New! Boynton’s Half-Finished Town Square Project Gets $35 Million From City to Finish Work

CRAs transform streetscapes and improve communities.

#redevelopmentworks

After weeks of deliberation and nearly eight years for it to come to fruition, the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency approved Time Equities’ request for a $35 million tax-increment financing plan to complete the city’s long-delayed Town Square Project.

“We’re here to do our best,” said Francis Greenburger, owner of Time Equities, who was seated in the front row at the May 13 board meeting. “We’re committed to realizing what we hope will be a high-quality project consistent with the vision that Boynton had for itself. … Give us the tools and we’ll go to work.”

New! Fifth Street Plaza Continues to Flourish with New Businesses

CRAs increase business opportunities for residents, merchants, and investors

#redevelopmentworks

Every Friday night, the Fifth Street area is energized with the Market on Fifth farmers market.

Local vendors offer items such as fresh produce, farm-fresh eggs, and artisan breads. Visitors not only delight in purchasing these items, but enjoy the live music and stroll along Fifth and Main Streets to visit the restaurants and shops in the area.

Over three years ago, Propagate Social House launched a farmers market as a test program on its own property. The event gathered community support, and the city of Apopka allowed Propagate to set up the farmers market in the parking lot by Fifth Street for an eight-month trial.

The Fifth Street Plaza is a part of the overall downtown Apopka district comprised of historical landmarks, residences and commercial properties. The city’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has worked to revitalize the district in recent years.

The City of Lynn Haven Seeks 11.7-million-dollar Grant for Improvement Project

CRAs transform streetscapes and improve communities.

#redevelopmentworks

The Lynn Haven Community Redevelopment Agency and Florida Architects laid out improvement plans for Ohio and Florida Avenues during a workshop last month.

The plans include new sidewalks, extensive landscaping, buried utility lines, lights and widening Florida Avenue sidewalks between 7th and 12th streets.

“So one of the things that our citizens have mentioned to me that we need is sort of a downtown area, a gathering place of sorts, and that’s one reason why we wanted to make sure that our government building here was so solidified in a sense of the color scheme, the walk ability, and also being adjacent to Florida Avenue,” Mayor Jesse Nelson said.
