A friend recently asked “Why so many events this year?” The reason is because we are helping so many people. We are currently serving 60 families each month (including 90 parents and 175 children). The events help fund the Parent Aide staff who make home visits to families all over our community. The events fund the purchase of parent education workbooks, equipment, games, and tools that Parent Aides use to teach skills and cover a host of other costs associated with operating a business (space, phones, and insurance to name a few). The bottom line is that events enable us to help families 60 families a month grow stronger. The events help 175 children have safe, stable and nurturing homes. Children deserve to grow up in homes where there is no violence or abuse. You support that work when you participate in an event! Think about that, you aren’t just running in a 5K, you are running for children to have safe homes where there is no abuse and where they feel safe and thrive!
