Trauma After the Hurricane: Mental and Behavioral Health Services
In recent years, Southwest Florida has had too many opportunities to show its strength and spirit. We recovered from 2017’s Hurricane Irma to face the COVID-19 pandemic, and now are being tested by Hurricane Ian. With devastation and loss come understandable impacts to mental health and wellness.

Fortunately, Collier County has multiple organizations working hard to ensure people have ready access to the help and services they need. The first, and hardest, step may well be asking for the help. Future Ready Collier wants you to know that the help is there, and ready to hear from you.

Resources for Our Community
When Hurricane Irma blew through Southwest Florida in 2017, it was the worst storm event many of us had experienced. While we navigated our way through the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, we thankfully escaped any direct hits from major hurricanes. Hurricane Ian’s arrival on our shores on September 28, 2022, brought a violent reminder that our choice to live in paradise comes with the need to be mindful of the risks posed to our beautiful coastal home.

Through it all, the partners that make up the Future Ready Collier network have come together to ensure our community receives the help and resources it needs. Read on for some information about Hurricane Ian recovery and resources. We will continue to update this website and our social media accounts, as well.

To achieve our goals of helping all kindergarteners enter school ready, all high schoolers graduate with a plan, and all students thrive on their journey between those milestones, we regularly create and collect resources of value to local families and students, our network partners, and the public.
