The FRC Roundup

Mission: We provide transformative in-home education and support to Floyd County families, empowering them to create safe, stable and nurturing homes so that their children can grow and thrive.

Vision: Floyd County parents with children birth to 12 years will have the parenting and life skills they need to provide safe and nurturing homes for their children.

FRC GRATEFUL FOR GRANTS TO HELP FURTHER THE MISSION

Parent Aides share a small portion of items we purchased using a recent $500 grant from Constellation (an Exelon Company). We purchased a variety of materials to help us work with children and parents on social/motor skills and childhood literacy---all while encouraging nurturing/interactive activities between parents and children! Thank you Constellation!

Thank you Floyd Medical Center Healthcare Foundation for a recent $750 grant which will be used to purchase car seats and other safety supplies for the families we serve.

WELCOME KAROL AND MAHA!

Karol Valencia is a Berry College Bonner Scholar who will focus her efforts on our marketing and events. She is a Junior and majoring in International studies/Psychology with a minor in French. She is very active on campus with the Berry Model UN Team and other activities. She enjoys writing poetry in her spare time.

Maha Khatib is a Georgia Highlands College student completing an internship with our Parent Aide program. She will graduate in 2022 with her Associates in Human Services. When she gets a break from studying, Maha enjoys reading and playing old Game Boy kinds of video games (Mario is her favorite).

FRC FACT

Each month the FRC receives about 15 new referrals to our Parent Aide program from pediatricians, schools, DFCS, and (our favorite) self-referrals. Once we receive a referral, we reach out to meet the family and discover their needs. If our program isn’t the right fit, we help them connect with another agency or program.

Registration is encouraged for the tournament but not required. Walk ups are welcome!
