Participants will be able to interpret and analyze key economic concepts associated with the Taylor Swift 2022 Ticket Fiasco. Teachers will learn about the concept of “Swiftonomics”, which includes skyrocketing demand, limited supply, price gouging, monopolies and elasticity. Teachers will be given ideas of how to present and discuss these in class with their students, as well as assess them.

The Great (Economic) Debate Model: Teaching Students How to Engage in Debate

Date: August 8 - Time: 5:00 - 6:00PM ET - Grades: 6-12

Join us to discuss current economic debate topics that can be integrated in your 6-12 social studies classrooms today! Participants will be able to analyze current debate topics and integrate them into their classrooms through a class debate model.

Why Do We Do That?: Diving Into Behavioral Economics

Date: August 14 - Time: 5:00 - 6:00PM ET - Grades: 6-12

Participants will be able to analyze the differences between traditional economics and behavioral economics through a variety of examples and resources to implement into their 9-12 social studies classroom. Many examples of resources, including lessons plans, activities and books, will be introduced to integrate immediately into the classroom.

Demystifyung Economics: Engaging Students in the Fundamentals of Economics

Date: August 15 - Time: 5:00 - 6:00PM ET - Grades: 9-12

Attendees will be provided with enjoyable ways to teach economic jargon and will be guided through resources to incorporate in 9-12 social studies classes. Resources are designed to be used with minimum preparation.

AP Microeconomics Unit

Date: August 21- Time: 5:00 - 6:00PM ET - Grades: 9-12

Participants will engage in interactive activities about market structure and firm behavior. They will receive classroom ready lessons to facilitate student learning.
