We are thrilled to announce our upcoming series of FREE drop-in engagement sessions titled "Let's Talk About Mental Health". These sessions are designed to create an open and inclusive space where you can freely discuss your questions, concerns, and thoughts about mental well-being. Join us on the third Friday of every month at Asia Pacific Cultural Center as we kick off our first session on August 18, 2023.

Meet Your Host: Cynthia Huynh-Wu, MA, LMHC


Guiding our discussions is Cynthia Huynh-Wu, a dedicated mental health professional and experienced counselor.


Cynthia is committed to fostering an environment where everyone's voice is heard, and no question is left unanswered. Her background as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor ensures that you'll receive the guidance and support you need during our engaging sessions.

Do you know how to properly use credit? Know how interest works? The importance of your credit score (everyone has one!)? This workshop will cover all of this! All young adults want to learn more about how to save money and stay out of debt. Sharpen your financial skills at this FREE and FUN Financial Workshop.


Join us at APCC Thursday August 24, 2023 from 6 pm-8 pm at APCC! There will be catered dinner from Qdoba courtesy of our partner Twinstar, as well as door prizes and gift cards for those who attend.

In many high schools, financial literacy often isn't emphasized. The transition to higher education is often accompanied by financial troubles as students start to learn how to navigate their independence in the real world. This workshop will answer many questions and help participants better understand their financial options and better plan for their future. Come! Bring a friend! We look forward to seeing you there!

APCC is happy to assist in sharing information about the THRIVE TACOMA Business Fund!

In partnership with the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, the City of Tacoma, and Comcast.


As business navigators, APCC supports by helping small businesses apply for these opportunities.


Grants will be awarded to qualified applicants on a lottery basis. 20 grants of $5,000 each will be awarded.

The fund is made possible by a generous donation from Comcast, and is administered by the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber in partnership with Asia Pacific Cultural Center, Mi Centro, and The Black Collective.


Requirements:

To request funds, you must meet the program requirements, submit required documentation, and submit your application by August 31st, 2023 at 11:59pm PST. Funds are available on a limited basis to BIPOC and female small business owners operating in the City of Tacoma. Submitting an application is not a guarantee of assistance. For your privacy, information collected will remain confidential, used only to meet record-keeping requirements, and withheld as applicable from disclosure. 


The minimum requirements are (businesses must meet each requirement to be eligible for the Thrive Tacoma Business Fund):

  • Your business must be physically located within Tacoma city limits (areas such as Fircrest, University Place, Parkland, etc. do not qualify) 
  • A majority (51%) of your business ownership must identify as BIPOC* or women owned. (*black, indigenous, people of color)
  • Your business must have 15 or fewer employees
  • Your business must be for-profit (Nonprofit organizations are not eligible)
  • Your businesses must have a current City of Tacoma business license active or renewed prior to the application period (July 24th, 2023)
  • Your businesses must have been in operation on or before 9/12/22


Applications available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean.
