Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the #1 killer of student athletes. Many heart conditions exhibit no symptoms and can remain undetected during regular physical examinations.
SCA doesn’t only threaten athletes, it strikes adults across all age groups, often without warning. Most at-risk individuals are unaware that they have underlying heart issues.
Register today for a free heart screening with The Peyton Walker Foundation. Screenings include:
✔ Vitals check
✔ Heart murmur screening
✔ Electrocardiogram (EKG) — with a free echocardiogram if needed
✔ Learn CPR and AED usage
✔ Heart health education
You and/or your family will meet with a healthcare professional, receive a copy of your EKG, and get a summary report. The screening takes about 60 minutes, a time that could save your life! Appointments fill quickly - register now!

Rotary Welcomes
The Peyton Walker Foundation
On Monday, September 15, Julie joined the Rotary Club of Harrisburg to share how we are working to save lives in Central Pennsylvania.
Through free heart screenings, AED donations, and CPR/AED training, we are helping to prevent the tragic loss of life due to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in our community.
"We were honored to welcome Julie Walker, founder and President of The Peyton Walker Foundation, at our lunch meeting this afternoon. The Peyton Walker Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and increasing survival rates of sudden cardiac arrest.
Julie moved us all with powerful stories of lives lost to sudden cardiac arrest, and the video testimonies of individuals saved by an AED were truly inspiring. The Harrisburg Rotary Club is excited to schedule a CPR class and work toward getting more AEDs installed throughout our community," said Shaun Eng, president, Rotary Club of Harrisburg.
To watch Julie's moving presentation and learn more about what we do, take 20 minutes to watch the video.

Committed Team Even On Labor Day
Even on Labor Day, the work doesn't stop. Bill may have been "off duty" on vacation and out of state, but he never misses an opportunity to introduce others to the importance of being prepared for a sudden cardiac arrest emergency.
Every life saved because of CPR and AED training makes it worthwhile. The beat goes on!

Saving Lives in Minutes: 4 Minute Community
With the recent 4 Minute Community expansion into Dauphin County, Pennsylvania became the first state in the US to have TWO 4 Minute Communities deployed and operational!
We are actively deploying a total of 320 AEDs in Dauphin County. These AEDs are connected to the 911 call center and are alerted when there is a cardiac arrest within 1 mile of the AED.
If you are willing and able to respond to cardiac arrest calls - join the CARE Team today! What's involved? Complete an online training course, brush up on your CPR and AED skills ... and then we'll coordinate a pick-up time for you to receive an AED at no cost.
We are still accepting CARE Team Members for Dauphin County. Feel free to invite friends or colleagues to join the program. Direct them here for more info and to sign up.

Sponsor Spotlight
"Establishing the Bankert Foundation (BF) in his will, Ken Bankert identified the types of charitable needs and causes that he chose to see the Foundation support. Ken was extremely supportive of young people. He specified the Foundation should provide grants to organizations which provide beneficial services to student athletes and young people in general.
Upon receiving the initial grant request from the Peyton Walker Foundation (PWF), the Bankert Foundation’s trustees recognized the significant positive effect PWF has on preventing sudden cardiac arrest in student athletes by providing free heart screenings for students in the community and by providing educational scholarships for students pursuing degrees in healthcare. BF has provided five grants to PWF and looks forward to supporting the organization in the years to come," says Bruce Brown, BF Trustee.
Most recently, we received funds to purchase AEDs and SaveStations to place at schools and parks. SaveStations are climate-controlled cabinets that protect AEDs from weather elements, making them accessible to the public 24/7 so they are within easy reach for bystander response in saving a life.
We are grateful for the Bankert Foundation's support enabling us to continue making our work possible. Thank you!
