FREE and the Institute for Small and Rural Di
stricts (ISRD) have partnered with Sandy Hook Promise to provide school and district threat assessment team training. The specific training, Safety Assessment & Intervention (SAI), establishes and trains multidisciplinary teams within schools and districts to identify, assess, and respond to threats of violence that may include:
- Identifying threats, signs, and behaviors that may lead to a violent act;
- Determining the seriousness of the threat; and
- Developing intervention plans that both protect potential victims and address the underlying problem or conflict that initiated the behavior.
Four regional trainings were scheduled in Gainesville for February 4, 5 and March 4, 5.
