Getting Their Writing Groove On

NEFEC provided professional learning for writing teachers earlier this month. Seventy teachers from third through tenth grade joined in grade-level sections to analyze the B.E.S.T. communication standards, study the writing rubric, and create model essays. Some teachers even dressed the part by wearing their favorite inspirational attire.

The session was part one of a two-part writing series. Part two will focus on scoring student papers with fidelity and feedback.

Rural Connect Administrators and Coaches

Rural Connect Administrators and Coaches held their first collaborative meeting for the new school year last week. The day of learning was spent analyzing data, discussing Rural Connect strategies, sharing successes, and collaborating with others. This professional learning community will meet three times in the upcoming year.
