NEFEC staff members have facilitated several regional professional learning sessions related to FSA writing during the fall of 2019. Teachers from NEFEC districts in both elementary and secondary classrooms have participated in sessions that include a deep look at the FSA Writing Rubric, strategies for success, and individual/consensus grading practices.
The goal is to empower teachers to have data-driven discussions that allow reflection upon previous scores in the three domains of writing instruction. These discussions facilitate analysis of, and adjustments to instruction.
Comments from participating teachers include:
“Thanks for helping me learn great writing strategies.”
“I really learned a lot!!!”
“Thanks for strategies I can take back and use tomorrow.”
NEFEC is committed to providing ongoing regional professional learning designed to elevate proficiency in the writing skills of all students in the region.
