At this time of the year, we always like to take some time to reflect on our families, friends, and colleagues! We are so thankful for each of you. All of you care about our students and work hard to make education excellence attainable for them. We hope that your holidays are filled with laughter, love, and some rest!
FREE also hopes that you have a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year! We plan to begin 2018 with fresh engagement and renewed energy for our foundation and our students. Thanks for being the catalyst for making that happen!

2nd Teen Summit A Success
FREE partnered with the Rural Partnership for Healthy Kids to provide the 2nd Annual Teen Summit on November 17th at the Omni Hotel in Amelia Island.
The Teen Summit is designed to provide 9th graders with information and strategies for getting the most out of high school. Students hear presentations to help open their minds and encourage them to create healthy and successful high school experiences for themselves.
Eighty six students from Flagler, Nassau, and Putnam Counties participated in the East offering of the Summit. The West offering is scheduled for January 26, 2018, in Lake City and will host students from Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist, and Hamilton Counties.

Congratulations to NEFEC School Districts
We are so proud of our School Districts for many things, but for the first time, 100% of our Districts participated in the District Matching Grant program. That means we left no money on the table. This program which is provided from the State Legislature through the
Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, allows Foundations to obtain matching funds for teacher education, literacy, and working with low performing students. Way to go!
