Another thing you might not be aware of is that if you track your Porsche, even though an A40 oil might be adequate, using Driven’s DI oils on mixed street/track cars is a worthwhile upgrade, if you don’t want to go through the trouble of running a true race oil. If your oil temps are reaching 235-240F, it is equally important to consider moving to a 50wt, so either DI50 or Driven XP6, the latter being Driven’s true race oil. This holds true for most if not all Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models.
Pro tip: If you don’t have time to change your oil before a track day, which is preferred, simply changing your oil filter and topping off your oil with fresh oil is the next best thing. The added benefit of doing this is you can take the filter off immediately after the event and inspect it, and you’ll for sure know that if you find something, it wasn’t there before the track event.
