THE CALL OF THE WATCHMAN
There are lots of people in the body of Christ talking about the “watchman.” Just who and what are these people? We will determine this from the scripture, and not from human reasoning.
Ezekiel was a priest that was called to be a prophet. He had great concern for Israel and its temple, priesthood, the sacrifices, and the Shekinah glory of God. He had a number of visions and was sent by God as a prophet to Israel to bring a warning of coming judgment.
He prophesied before Israel was taken into captivity, during the captivity, and what the future of Israel held in store. He was a voice for the Lord.
In Ezekiel 33 God warned him to be a watchman. A watchman was one that sat on the wall constantly looking for enemies coming to invade and do harm to the nation. God warns him to be the kind of watchman that would blow the trumpet and warn the people that impending judgment was coming. He was a voice to warn. In Ezekiel 33:4 it says, “Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.” This is a stern warning to Ezekiel. It lets him know if he warns the people of what is coming that he will not be held accountable if they do not listen.
Verse 5 says, “He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon HIM. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.” If the person listens to the warning they will be delivered.
Verses 6-7 say, “But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. So, thou, O son of man I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore, thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”
God used Ezekiel to warn the people. Many perished because they did not listen to the warning. Because he warned them, he was not held accountable when they did not listen.
Many have called themselves watchmen, but they are prophesying that things will get better. They are not listening to the voice of the Spirit which is bring a warning that things are not going to get better in the natural. They are prophesying out of their flesh. By doing this, they have not warned the people, and God will require their blood because they did not warn the body of Christ. Yes, the remnant will rise up in this hour, but many will be martyred for their stand of faith. It will be the best of times but the worst of times.
This is definitely the hour of deception. I would say that as a watchman for God that the hour is coming soon where the sword will fall in judgment on our land and the world. There will be no time to avoid its coming. Some will listen and prepare for this hour, while others will ignore the warning and will perish. Scripture after scripture, prophet after prophet has given us light as to the season that we are in.
The 2022 World Government Summit has come together this week in Dubai. As I write this the first item on their agenda was preparing to receive the New World Order. They have already put into motion their plan. Many will be deceived into thinking it will bring peace, but it will bring a sword. There will be no peace until the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, sets up His kingdom.
Are you a watchman? Are you preparing others for what is coming? If we go through the tribulation, are you preparing others for those days spiritually and physically? Will you be the one to sound the alarm for the Lord? I pray that you will.
