JESUS’ DEATH AND RESURRECTION – LESSON 2

DAY OF PREPARATION AND CRUCIFIXION

Today is the “day of preparation.” It began at sundown yesterday. Last evening would be the “last supper” followed by Jesus’ agonizing prayer at Gethsemane’s Garden. He is then captured and taken first to the High Priest, then to Pilate’s judgment hall. That was all done last night according to our 2022 timeline.

On today’s timeline he is crucified at midday and died at 3:00 p.m. Since Passover starts today at sundown, the last part of the afternoon is when his body was taken down from the cross and was prepared by Joseph of Arimathea to be put in the tomb before sundown.

It is mere coincidence that today is the day declared to be “Good Friday” since Jesus was not crucified on a Friday. Since this evening begins Passover let us be mindful that the first Passover in Egypt was a “death event.” Only those with the blood of the lamb applied to their doorposts would be spared. Passover for the Lamb of God, Jesus, was also a death event. He died and was “buried” in the tomb for three days and nights.

This is a very appropriate day to give praise and thanks to Jesus for his suffering and sacrificial death. Be sure to thank Father for it was a grievous sacrifice for Him also. Thank Him for this divine plan that He established from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8) and carried out at the fall of man while Adam was still in the garden of Eden.

IMAGINATIONS RUNNING WILD

I have always had a vivid imagination. I am sure it is part of being a “seer” for the Lord. I would see faces in clouds, and trees and always have had vivid dreams. Sometimes that imagination would run wild. I remember when I had my first child that my husband would often go out of town on business.  He was not good about getting back when he said he would. Often, if he was late, I pictured him in an accident or dead on the side of the road. I would work myself up into a frenzy. It was only when he came through the door that I realized it was just my imagination. I was being controlled by fear that worked in my imagination.

Imaginations can bring creativity, but they can also bring fear. In the season that we are in many person’s imaginations are running wild. Imaginations of what if this or that were to happen. What if we get attacked? What if we don’t have enough food? What if I get sick? What if I lose my job or income? Some are legitimate questions, but we must believe that God will provide no matter what. We must think on his promises and not the problems.

God deals with imaginations in II Corinthians 10:3-5. Paul lets the readers know, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (fleshly, like guns etc.,) but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds) Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

First of all, the battle takes place in the mind. This is where these thoughts come from, planted by Satan. He peppers our minds with thoughts to try to bring us into fear. We combat those thoughts by making a decision to NOT THINK ON THEM. We must cast them out and tell the devil NO! We literally must take those thoughts or imaginations captive. We do not allow them to control us.

As for me, I didn’t know how to trust my husband to God. I hadn’t learned how to pray for his safe journey and return. I didn’t realize I was being controlled by the lies of the enemy. Once I learned these concepts then things changed. I prayed the promises instead of fixating on the problem. This is what each of us must do in this season with all the unknowns that are being thrown at us.

Satan may say “what if?” and we answer it with the word of God. Remember, for every problem there is a promise. We cannot let our imaginations run wild or they will torment us, just like they tormented me before I learned what to do about them. We must believe that God has a good plan for each of us and He will bring that good plan to pass no matter what we face! Don’t imagine anything else!

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Passover begins at sundown this evening. Let us be mindful that the Lord of Lords still sees the blood applied to the door of our hearts when we repent. That blood brings us salvation, healing and restoration! Oh what a Savior!

Apostle Pat Murray

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

We’ve heard it said and it’s more true today than we could imagine and that is…TIMING IS EVERYTHING. So don’t allow yourself to get ahead of God’s plan for your life by trying to play catch up with someone else...OR even worse…Don’t dangerously speed up to go around them…Just so you can get ahead of them. You must reaffirm this to yourself; If you’re not going at breakneck speed right now it really is ok. Just know that being in God’s timing in this season is more important than ever before. In fact, it is crucial. So do yourself a favor; Simply slow down and pace yourself. You don’t need to become thoroughly exhausted before you get started good. Remember this timing thing that’s going on is not God’s REJECTION; But it is God’s divine PROTECTION. So rejoice right where you are...For whether you can see it or not at the moment; Your steps are being ordered by our Lord and you’re being supernaturally protected by your loving Father God. (Psalms 37:23)
