THE “I AM” LESSON 13
_________________________
We conclude this “I AM” series with a most remarkable proof of Jesus’ identity as the “I AM” of the burning bush, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The glory of that “IAM” was so powerful that even the very ground Moses stood upon was so holy that God commanded him to take off his shoes as he stood on it.
When the presence of Almighty God is manifested to men on the earth, the glory is so overwhelming that it changes the atmosphere.
We see this in John 18:5, 6, and 8. Following the last supper, Jesus, Peter, James, and John had retired to the Garden of Gethsemane. When Judas Iscariot led the temple guards to capture Jesus, the guards did not know what he looked like. Jesus met them at the garden entrance and Judas gave him his kiss of betrayal. Then Jesus asked the guards in verse 4, “Whom seek ye?” They answered in verse 5, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus simply answered, “I AM.” [He did not say “I am he.” That is a mistranslation.]
As soon as Jesus said, “I AM,” the guards all fell backward on to the ground. Jesus had uttered to them His eternal almighty name. The glory in speaking that name was so powerful that it overwhelmed the guards. They suddenly found themselves momentarily on holy ground, just as Moses had been.
However, the guards recovered and took Jesus because that was the Father’s plan.
This demonstration of the power of His name gives great support to Jesus’ claim to the Jewish leaders in John 8:58 that “Before Abraham was, I AM.”
Yes, Jesus was fully man during his time on earth, but he has always been fully God from the eternal and into eternity. He is the Alpha and Omega, [ the A to Z] of the Book of Revelation. (Revelation 1:11)

TWO MEN AND TWO SHIPS

Two men and two ships.
The first man was Jonah. He was running from God on board a ship in the opposite direction from where God told him to go. Because of his disobedience a storm came up and the ship was tossed and turned.
Jonah realized this and told the shipmaster to throw him overboard. They gave in to his request and their ship was saved. Because of this they said in Jonah 1:16, “Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD and made vows.”
As the rest of the story goes, after being in the belly of a great fish (whale) and repenting, he ends up at his destination. He went there reluctantly, and the city of Nineveh was spared destruction because he ended up doing what God told him to do. In Jonah 3:5 after Jonah preached his message it said, “So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them, even to the least of them.” In verse 9 the king said, “Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger that we perish not?” This one message changed the people and the king of Nineveh, stopping the judgment that was to come.
The second man was Paul. He was a prisoner on the way to Rome on board a ship. He warned the shipmaster that destruction would come if they continued their journey, but he did not listen. Just like Paul had warned him, a storm came up and the ship was battered. Paul told them that God would spare their lives but would not save the ship. It crashed and they wanted to kill all the prisoners. But God! Paul interceded on behalf of the 276 souls on that ship and their lives and Paul’s life were spared. But it did not end there.
They swam to land and another miracle took place. A viper [poisonous snake] bit Paul and everyone thought he was evil and getting his just reward of death. Paul shook off that viper and nothing happened. This miraculous event caused many on the island of Melita [Malta] to believe and people were healed and all the people on the shipwreck were treated with kindness.
Paul did not run from his destiny even though it was not an easy journey. Everywhere he went lives were changed. As for Jonah, he did not want the people of Ninevah to be saved and ended up having a pity party.
Let’s be determined to have the spirit that Paul had and not run from our assignment. Let us always believe that God’s plan, regardless of the storms, will result in lives being changed, including our own.

PROPHETIC WORD AND VISION
This morning as I was praying, I had a vision. I saw a gavel in the hand of a judge come down and pronounced a guilty sentence in a courtroom. I then heard the words, “you have been weighed in the balances and have been found wanting.”
Those same words come from the book of Daniel chapter 5:27b where Daniel was brought in to interpret the handwriting on the wall. In this portion of scripture, the king had used God’s sacred vessels to drink wine from and party with. During that partying scene, handwriting appeared on the wall. It was the last warning from God to King Belshazzar. There was no turning back. He was judged, found guilty, and died that night.
I truly believe that God has sent prophet after prophet warning our country and the world that we needed to repent. Instead of doing this, church has been going on as usual. The praise teams still sing, and many pulpits are caught up in politics instead of preaching the word to feed the sheep. They have not been listening. Instead of running to the altar they are running for a pleasant word from a prophet.
Now, there are some pockets of revival and repentance, but the majority of the church is in an apostate state. Those that preach righteousness and judgment are shunned and ridiculed. They have been called “judgmental” and have been told they show lack of love.
So, what do I see with this vision and word? I see the hammer of justice falling first upon those lukewarm churches that are just social clubs, for judgment starts in the house of God. Then, I see that hammer falling on each of us that are lukewarm in our walk with God. He has warned us, but many have not listened and continued in their “private sin.” No more, says the Lord, will it be tolerated. You are either for God or against.
We see a very hard season ahead, separating the remnant from those that are not sold out to God. Many will suffer great hardship for their stand for Christ. There will be martyrs and there will be those that lose everything. The time of prophesying that God is going to prosper you is over. The time to repent is here.
The Lord would say: Oh, that my people would hear my voice and repent. How I long to see their hearts turn toward me and away from the things that are strongholds in their lives. Oh, that they would see with spiritual eyes what is ahead. Oh, that they would have listened and prepared, but they have been weighed in the balance and have been found lacking.
Like an earthly father disciplines his children to bring correction, our heavenly Father is doing the same. Some will yield to the discipline while others will rebel. Those that do not receive correction will see their end as the branch on the vine that did not bear fruit. It is worthless and dead. It will be cut off and cast into the fire.

Just know that God has clear roads, super highways and by passes for His children; And even in those times where all you can see are washed out roads, detours and dead ends. It’s in Exodus 14 where we read of how He came through for the children of Israel in their time of great need. In fact, they were facing what appeared to be certain death; Either from Pharaoh's Army or by drowning in the Mighty Red Sea. I’m sure they were all in panic mode by now; But our faithful God came through for them at the very last minute…By creating a stream line highway in the very middle of the overflowing Red Sea. Just always keep in mind that God still specializes in putting super highways and by passes along your road of life as well. Oh yes He does; And He will do this right smack dab in the middle of your washed out roads, dead ends and detours. So just trust God today for what looks to you is totally IMPOSSIBLE.

The scripture below even though Paul is saying it, applies to all of us. We have seen times of abundance and times of need. The disciples went through trials just like we are doing today. God in His grace and mercy gave us examples of how to walk through these seasons in our life.
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength.”

Persecuted! HCC
Are you being persecuted, because of your
belief in God? Remember Jesus was persecuted
too. Shake off persecution and pray for ones that,
do this to you. It would be people you know,
People in your family even. Pray their eyes will be
open to the truth of Christ Jesus. We learn to
suffer criticism, for our God is our everything.
Be an overcomer of trials and tribulations.
Walk and hold the hand of Christ, through the
human life we live. Smile and know, even though,
I’m persecuted, Christ guides and walks with me.
