THE LIFE OF MOSES – LESSON 13

A STINKY AND ITCHY ORDEAL

The first plague (judgment) was over in seven days. The waters that had turned to blood returned to normal. We do not know if it was literal blood or if it was blood red and toxic. We know it killed fish, stank, and was unusable, and undrinkable. The magicians duplicated it with the demonic power of their false gods.

Moses was instructed to go to Pharaoh a third time, but Pharaoh still would not let them go. This brought on the second plague. Aaron stretched out his rod over the various bodies of water and it brought forth massive numbers of frogs. The magicians again duplicated this miracle of frogs. (Exodus 8:6.)

The frog was one of Egypt’s gods, but the frog-god was unable to stop this frog invasion. Pharaoh called for Moses and begged him to get rid of the frogs. He even promised to let the Hebrews go.

The next day Moses cried out to the LORD and all the frogs died. The people gathered the frogs into heaps. Piles of dead frogs were found everywhere. They rotted and the whole land stank of rotten frogs.

Pharaoh reneged on his promise. He again hardened his heart and would not let them go. His word meant nothing.

Moses now told Aaron in Exodus 8:16 to take his rod and smite the dust of the ground that it would turn into lice. Yes, the very soil itself yielded up lice throughout the land. The animals and the people were infested with them.

The magicians tried to duplicate this plague just as they had done with the bloody water and the frogs, but they could not. They told Pharaoh this and told him that this was the finger of God. It was beyond them. Pharaoh did not listen to them. His heart remained hardened. God’s miracle power now had proven to be something beyond what any of their “gods” or magicians could do.

SIX ASPECTS OF JESUS’ MINISTRY

In the book of Mark chapter 1 we see Jesus active in his ministry. He did not just preach. He had more aspects to his ministry than that.

1.     He preached (Mark 1:14)

2.     He taught (Mark 1:17)

3.     He performed deliverance (Mark 1:25)

4.     He healed the sick (Mark 1:29-31)

5.     He prayed (Mark 1:35)

6.     He cleansed (Mark 1:40-45

Each of these aspects of his ministry brought with it an anointing for that aspect. As we walk with the Lord, and do our assignment, we must pray and discern by the Holy Spirit what the needs are of each individual situation.

One might need healing, while another needs deliverance. One might need deliverance, while another needs to be cleansed. One might need salvation while another needs prayer.

As we determine what it is that a person needs, then we operate by the Holy Spirit to bring results.

For instance, let us say that someone you know took the “jab” which is definitely not something anyone should do. Evidence has proven that it has caused serious diseases and side effects. Let us say that person ends up with an illness that was a result of the poison in that jab. The first step in receiving relief from those side effects is repentance. One must ask God to forgive them for ignorantly (or willingly) putting something into their body that could harm them. Then, one would pray for them to be cleansed of the ingredients of that injection. Yes, they will be healed, but they need cleansing first to receive.

Studying the life of Jesus helps us to see the vastness of his ministry. He came to give us much more than eternal life. He came to set us free and give us a life full of freedom in our spirits, souls, and bodies.  He gives us freedom from anything that harms us physically, mentally, or spiritually. 

Be specific when you minister to others, and you will see God honor your faith!

Just know that you have so much more left in you; Than what was knocked out of you by the plotting and the planning of the enemy. So get on up out of that dark valley you’ve been in; And lift up those weary hands of yours and get your praise on. The time has come for you to be awake and aware; For you must be focused and determined; To not let Satan and his cohorts slow you down or hold you back. Just remember that you CAN make it; And you WILL make it all the way through with sweet VICTORY in your heart. Now you may be asking yourself…But how can this be? Oh, child of God you WILL be able to make it with flying colors simply because you are VICTORIOUS…For The Victor Jesus Christ is IN you and He shall be WITH you. Therefore as you put your complete faith IN Him…You’ll suddenly look all around and you WILL see that you HAVE overcome. Just always try to keep in your mind the words Apostle Paul penned in Romans 8:37…”Now despite all these things, overwhelming victory is yours through Christ, who loved you and gave Himself for you.”

Friday Thought For Today 

The scripture says in Psalm 149:6-7 KJV. “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two –edged sword in their hand. To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people”. Your victory is in your praise!

Praise is a weapon to be used as we fight, our battles, both in the physical and spiritual realm.



2 Chronicles 20 is the story of how God saved his people of Judah. 

“And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated."

Light. He is the Lord of the Pits. Go to him in

Prayer. Tell him of your struggles. Come out

Of the pits of despair. Look in Gods face

And smile. For he will rescue you. He will lift

You up from the pits and will sit you on water,

Where you will float to Christ. No pit is so deep

That the love of God is not deeper still.
