chez pascal & the wurst kitchen ||

The year was ... somewhere pre Chez Pascal, late 90's early 2000's.
Matt and I were living in the North End of Boston. I always really loved movies, he always really loved to cook. One day we were doing that sort of brainstorm type of thing one does when you think about what you want to do with your life, or even just the day.
We thought it would be fun if we combined our two individual passions for cooking and movies and write a little book for our families.
It would be along the lines of ... cook this dish and watch this movie
(very clever), and there would be a connection between the two.
I even had the title of the little book all picked out,
"What Tiffany ate for Breakfast and other fine Delectables"

The book did not quite make it out of the flip notepad that I had at the time, but it never really left my subconscious either as last week it crept right back in.
These days I would imagine that most of us are experiencing movie streaming overload. Or deciding what to watch is just as frustrating as doing nothing.

So, we thought we would give this a shot. Friday Night Dinner and Movie!
This first installment was taken from the pages
of that brainstorm oh so long ago.

You guessed it...
Aurora's Chicken Pepperoni
There is no true recipe for this dish, so Matt just made one up.
The movie is good fun, available streaming in many different places.

Matt also made a journey to Ward's Berry Farm and
got some of their true popping corn. Urban legend says that Bob Ward has spent many a winter in their back kitchen surviving on popcorn alone.

We stripped that beautiful corn, put it in a container and we will be offering that as well so that you can pop some corn, sprinkle it with a bit of our spices,
heat up your chicken pepperoni and sit back and enjoy the movie.

As it is only Matt and I here, we will only be able to take pre-paid/pre ordered take out as we will be making items to order based on amounts ordered.

So unfortunately, the production will never be as high as the demand as it is just not possible right now given the necessary restrictions.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to come
and pick up without pre ordering.
And we can not take phone orders either.

* Aurora's Chicken Pepperoni with Soft Polenta
This is a modified version of chicken cacciatore~ chicken thighs braised in a rustic stew of root vegetables, garlic, pepperoni, mushrooms, paprika and tomato paste. Served with soft polenta.
$29.16 includes tax
served in a 8 x 6 by 2 inch container. Serving size 2 people, but depends on your appetite

* Caesar Salad with Herb Croutons & Parmesan

1/2 pint of shucked popping corn, 1/2 pint corn oil, 2 ounce spice blend

Unfortunately we can not take phone call orders. Apologies too as food does not photograph well in those tin containers:)

Orders have to be placed in advance so that we will know how many to prepare, and just be aware that there is a limit to our supply as it is just
Matt and I now. 

Place your orders between now and 2pm on Friday April 3
or until we sell out.

I know it reads harshly, but we can make this work if we ll work together:
side note~ thank you all for being so so respectful of how this pick up works!

Also, if you don't want to get out of your car, no problem, if you can remember to bring a piece of paper with your name on it and hold it up in your passenger side window we will bring out your food. Or just wave to us, or signal.. somehow:) and we will come out.

*Please pick up your order anytime between 4:30pm – 7:00pm on
*Come to The Wurst Window. Food will be handed to you out the Wurst Window. 

*Simply come up, let me know who you are, and we will hand you your bag of goodies. If you bring your own tote bag, we will hand you the items for you to put in your bag.

*If there is anyone else at the window when you pull up we ask that you PLEASE stay in your car until they have left, and then proceed to the window. NO LINES can be formed. We will adhere to this very strictly and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation immensely.

*No one can come in the restaurant, most sorry.

*Unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate any dietary restrictions at this time.
