FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT

THE ISRAELI HOSTAGES RETURN HOME TO THEIR FAMILIES

2,500 years ago, the prophet Nehemiah declared, “The whole community that returned from captivity made Sukkahs and dwelt in them… and there was exceedingly great joy.” (Nehemiah 8:17)

"...Their release brings a sense many of us have forgotten these past two years: relief. May this day mark the beginning of the end of this trauma and this terrible war, the longest in Israel’s history. May the hostages and their families once again be able to find true simcha on this holiday of Sukkot, known in the Talmud as z’man simchateinu, the season of our rejoicing..."

Together we grieve and pray with the families of the loved ones who died as hostages.
