The board’s job with all this data was to discern what is at the heart of this feedback. What were you telling us about the central purpose of this community and the difference in lives we are called to make.
The board observed the workshops, collected the data, distilled it, and lived with it for several more weeks following the workshops. We then met for a day and a half in retreat with the consultant to synthesize this tremendous body of work - arriving at
four values
we truly feel express those qualities we all want to embody.
After reaching consensus on values, we broke into several groups, each working on articulating a
mission
. We brought the individual missions together, broke them down and hashed them out over a long afternoon to determine a mission we believe captures the essence of what people seek here at FRS and how they want to live in the world.
Lastly, we moved on to creating the ends which took up the balance of the retreat, part of the next board meeting and another special meeting with Laura Park to firm up our version that is now being shared with all of you.
We are so excited to finally share this with you and to create this jumping off point for our future work together.
On behalf of the board, thank you.
Thank you for supporting this work.
Thank you for sharing in this work.
Thank you for receiving this work.
We are so grateful,
Reverend Rebecca and
