DRINKING WATER CIRCUIT RIDERS

At FRWA, we are dedicated to empowering our members and ensuring they can fully leverage their membership benefits! Our Water Circuit Riders serve as your first line of defense, exemplifying our commitment to public health and community well-being.

Their services are tailored to the needs of each system, which can vary greatly in size, technology, and condition. Some of their core responsibilities include:

  • Consultations
  • On-site technical assistance
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Operator training and certification
  • Emergency response
  • Leak detection and conservation

Last month alone, our six Water Circuit Riders made nearly 300 onsite visits to systems across the state, showcasing their unwavering dedication to support. Boasting over a century of combined experience with FRWA, you can trust that you're in capable hands. Our knowledgeable team is always ready to assist you in maintaining clean and reliable water systems for Florida’s communities.

Recently FRWA assisted a utility system experiencing water loss at a rate of 88,000 gal per day. Team members from FRWA were able to locate the leak in an isolated section of the distribution system allowing the crew to make the necessary repairs to stop water and revenue loss.

We believe in the power of collaboration and are excited to be your partner in water management, ensuring that together we can achieve excellence in service and sustainability!

Why is Rural Water important?

This Week in Water History

October 11, 1988 New York Times headline–Science Watch; Less Lead in Rivers. “A decline in lead contamination in major American rivers has been found at two-thirds of 300 sites studied from 1974 to 1985, scientists at the United States Geological Survey have reported.

The report chiefly attributed the decline to a 75 percent drop in use of leaded gasoline in that period. The most rapid drop in lead content was recorded from 1979 to 1980, when use of leaded gasoline took its sharpest drop.

Preliminary analyses of more recent data indicate that the decline in lead contamination is continuing.”
