From Industry Experience to Published Article:
A Technical Writing Workshop and Luncheon
Facilitated by Ron Frisard, A.W. Chesterton Company
| |
| | | Publishing an industrial article offers many professional benefits. It strengthens your résumé, builds your credibility, expands your industry network, and allows you to share knowledge that can help others solve real-world fluid sealing challenges. Yet many knowledgeable professionals hesitate to write because they do not consider themselves “writers” or believe the process will be too difficult or time-consuming. In this interactive one-hour workshop, Ron Frisard of A.W. Chesterton Company will help participants recognize that they already have the most important ingredient for a strong technical article: valuable experience and a useful story to tell. Recent first-time FSA authors will share how they selected their topics, developed their articles, and discovered that the process was far less intimidating than they expected. Participants will also learn how to turn an application, technical challenge, case history, or industry trend into an article that is informative, practical, and appropriate for publication. Industrial publications are continually looking for credible, educational content. Young engineers, professionals who are new to the industry, and experienced members who have never previously published are especially encouraged to attend. Bring an idea—or simply bring your experience—and leave with the confidence and direction needed to begin your first technical article.
