Resurrection Sunday is April 16
Easter Sunday is fast approaching! On April 16 we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! He lives! The tomb of  general Jesus Christ is empty! We have much to celebrate and much for which to give thanks to God. Please plan to be present for worship and Bible study on this extraordinary Sunday. And, invite someone to join you for worship and/or Bible study. Please, dear church, be in prayer for this unique Sunday that God will be glorified, Christ exalted, and lives eternally touched by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Welcome Taylor and Nicole Dunn
On Sunday, March 26, at the unanimous recommendation of the Personnel Committee, the congregation called Taylor Dunn as Minister of Students. Please pray for Taylor and his wife, Nicole, as they make their transition to Field Street and to Cleburne. We thank God for His guidance in leading the Dunns to us and us to them. Pray that God will prosper and make fruitful Taylor's ministry to students in this community.

Senior Adult Spiritual Emphasis
The week of April 23-26 marks the week of our annual senior adult spiritual growth emphasis. Dr. Fred Meeks will be the guest preacher, and from what I hear, he is a gifted and skilled preacher. God has seen fit to give His favor and blessing to this week each year. We are blessed in our fellowship to have so many committed, exemplary senior adults. I know you appreciate, as I do, the significant contribution of our senior adults to the vibrancy of this church. However, this particular week is for ALL of us. I need it. You need it. Let's commit ourselves to pray for this week to be used of God to stir the saints and move our hearts closer to the Lord.

Debt Reduction on the Children's Building
Church, God is at work helping us to pay off the children's building. Thank you for your faithfulness and sacrificial giving in moving toward the goal of eliminating the debt on the children's building by the end of October. I thank God for those who have felt led of the Lord to give so generously. It won't be too long before we gather to celebrate the complete payoff! Praise God. These are good days in our church. I am so grateful for this ministry tool, which helps us to minister to children and their families to the glory of God.

Summer Sermon Emphasis--NEXT STEPS
During the summer weeks I want to preach a series of messages entitled, "NEXT STEPS."  All of us have next steps we are to take in our walk with Christ. The Bible never envisions stagnation in our experience with the Lord. We are to be moving constantly toward maturity in the faith. Yet, what are the next steps for each of us? I can't answer that question on an individual basis, but God's Word gives us some clarity and direction as we look to our own next steps. Don't miss this series of messages this summer! Also, please pray for these messages to stimulate us toward being like Jesus

Shadows of the Cross

On Palm Sunday evening we will be gathering together as a church family in worship of our Lord. We will specifically be looking to His death on the cross. The evening will be a time of corporate worship, music led by the choir, and ultimately taking the Lord's Supper together as a church family. This will be a very meaningful and reflective time to lead into Holy week, and ultimately the gathering of God's people to celebrate His resurrection and victory over the grave! Mark your calendars for Sunday evening, April 9, at 6:00 p.m. You will not want to miss this special service.

Our Adult Worship Choir will combine with FBC, Cleburne's Adult Choir to present the special music on Good Friday at the Holy Week services. Field Street members along with other churches and organizations will be recognized that morning at the Cleburne Conference Center.  The program begins at 7:00 AM.  Also, MeiLi Hall will be the guest speaker at the Thursday morning service, April 13, at 7:00 AM.

Our Children's Choirs Awards and spring musical are scheduled for Sunday evening, May 7, at 6:00 p.m.  Come be a part of this exciting evening and support our children's choirs and enjoy the Young Musician's musical, Legends at Camp Garner Creek.

God Bless,

Our 6th annual preteen Disciple Now: Mission Challenge Weekend was held at Mission Waco this year. We had 20 participants attend from Field Street. During this time, our preteens led the devotional time at a homeless shelter, participated in a service project and coordinated a Kids Club. The weekend culminated with a worship experience at Church Under the Bridge. Thank you for your prayers and for allowing us to participate in this wonderful opportunity. This year, Field Street Baptist Church was awarded a special recognition as Volunteer of the Year at Mission Waco. We are so grateful for our preteens and the ministry they continue to do each year.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S JOB CORPS

Our "Glamour, Glitz, Grace" Tea and Style show on Saturday, April 1, was a huge success.  Thank you to all the donors, table hostesses, those who shared testimonies, our students who modeled our fashions from BUCKLE  and CATO,  and each advisory member that had a part in making this a special event.

The CWJC is so appreciative of your generous donations of clothing and fashion accessories for the Splendid Lily. At present our "clothes closet" is fully stocked and we respectfully request that no further donations be made until the fall semester in September.
