April is Ripe with Opportunity to Worship!
This month promises to be a special one in many ways, but especially in our corporate worship gatherings. First, on Sunday, April 7, we had the privilege to give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Annually, this offering is received to support the work of Southern Baptists all across North America. Our church offering goal is $15,000. Even though our ingathering was on Sunday, April 7, it is not too late to give.
Second, on
Sunday evening, April 14, at 5:30 p.m. in the worship center, we will host "The Jesus Painter." In addition, our adult worship choir will lead us in stirring music to ready our hearts to receive the Ordinance of the Lord's Supper as part of our worship together on this very unique Sunday. You would do well to invite family and friends to join with us for this special presentation.
Finally, we will CELEBRATE the RESURRECTION of Christ on
Resurrection Sunday, April 21! We will have our regular Sunday morning schedule. Please pray about who you will invite to join us for worship on Easter Sunday! I am hoping God gives us an extraordinary month of worship in April...all to His eternal glory.
The Summer Months
Soon the summer weeks will be upon us! Plans are solidifying for active ministries for our children and youth. Drop by the church office for details related to summer ministry dates for our children and youth. Vacation Bible School, camps, and mission trips will again pepper the ministry calendar as we anticipate the summer days. Thank you in advance for always being so prayerful about our summer efforts to minister in a variety of ways. May God be pleased to give us much spiritual fruit as we anticipate a productive summer.
With much affection,
John Hall, Pastor

Palm Sunday Worship Service with The Jesus Painter
As we turn our attention to the future, we are busy preparing for a couple of worship opportunities around Holy Week. On Palm Sunday, we will have a
unique worship experience incorporating fine art.
The Jesus Painter
will be joining us for a Palm Sunday evening of worship. Here is what people are saying about the Jesus Painter.
"We had the most powerful worship experience we have ever had. People were weeping. The artist's spirit of humility really channeled what we were feeling and was very appreciated. We really appreciate the guy. Had a wonderful time talking with him. Definitely interested in bringing him back next year."--Brian Myers
"Just want to thank you for everything you and your ministry made possible during our Good Friday service. The service was amazing and Mark did a phenomenal job. Everyone loved his work and his heart for ministry."--Joey Santos
We are so fortunate to welcome The Jesus Painter to Field Street on Palm Sunday at 5:30 PM. This is a great event to invite your friends and neighbors. This unique worship experience will feature music from our choir, band, and orchestra. We will observe the Lord's Supper. fieldstreet.com/events
Instrumental Ministry
We continue to grow and develop our instrumental ministry. We have been meeting on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the choir room. If you have an
instrument collecting dust in your attic, would you
consider donating it to the church? We have some people who played in high school and college, but don't currently have an instrument. If you have one in the attic, we could possibly put it to work. If you have questions about joining our instrumental ministry, please email
Further Down the Road in 2019
We will welcome Adam Crabb for our very first concert in our Summer Concert Series. On Sunday, June 2, at 6 P.M., Adam will bring his ministry to Cleburne for a powerful night of celebration. He has been referred to as the "face of youth" in the Southern Gospel world, often bridging the gap between grandparents, parents, and children. Adam's three years as the leader of the fan favorite "Crabb Revival" gave him the front man

experience that is now his comfort zone. His youthful approach to traditional lyrics and his willingness to minister in word or song makes an evening with Adam truly a one-man revival! This young man has traveled well over a million miles, sung on more than a million records (sold) and has seen much of the world as a very young man. When God handed out gifts and attractiveness, he sure didn't leave him out. However, if you met him on the street, his unassuming spirit and kind nature would surprise you as it does most. Adam is what we commonly refer to as a "gentle spirit" or "gentleman." He has never met a person he didn't love, and he has never seen a problem that was bigger than God.
Thank you for allowing me to serve Christ with you!

Senior Adult Ministry I SHARED. . .with my Bible Fellowship Class about a friend who went to seminary with me. He had to take a remedial English class when he enrolled in the seminary. For one assignment he was told to compose a four line poem. This is what he wrote: "Spring has come, the grass has riz:
I wonder where the daisies is?"
I'm not sure what grade he received, but it serves to remind me of the changing seasons. I love the springtime, Kurt Kaiser, renowned pianist and composer used this season for a wonderful song "Lord, Bring Back the Springtime." The budding of the trees and flowers is certainly a great example of the "newness" that the Holy Spirit can bring into our lives.
Just a reminder...April 9--Young at Heart. Our special guest will be Brandon Treadway. We're looking forward to hearing him sing. Sunday, April 14, is going to be a great day! Joyful Sound will sing in the 8:30 morning service and "The Jesus Painter" will be with us that evening. It's Hard to Believe. . . but our Senior Adult Revival is upon us. April 28-May 1. Jim Hancock is our guest preacher and you're going to love him. The revival will begin on Sunday morning, April 28. Jim will preach in all three services on that Sunday 8:30, 11:00, & 5:30. Our morning services, Monday through Wednesday, will be from 10:00 to 11:00 followed by a complimentary lunch at 11:30 in the Family Life Center. Tuesday, May 7--Joyful Sound will present a Gospel Music concert at the Wren Place. --John Glover Return to top of page |
