December Is Upon Us! Opportunities Abound!
The Living Christmas Tree 2016, December 9-11
Please
plan to pray for and participate in this year's presentations of the Living Christmas Tree. The LCT represents numerous volunteer hours preparing this ministry to share with our community and region. So many individuals contribute to make this ministry happen annually. Thank you to all who have had a hand in readying this ministry. Please plan to attend one or more of the presentations:
Friday, December 9--7:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 10--7:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 11--3:00 p.m.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is Coming!
The LMCO is the MOST IMPORTANT designated offering we receive annually as a congregation. I am asking and challenging you to please plan and prepare to give exceedingly generously to this offering. Our church offering goal is $50,000. The ingathering for this offering is Sunday, December 18. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this critical offering. Let's shatter this offering goal, to the glory of God, on ingather Sunday!
Christmas Eve/Christmas Morning Worship Celebration
You are invited to join us on Christmas Eve for
a brief time of worship and reflection at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. This service is always meaningful in helping us to calibrate our hearts and minds to the core meaning of Christmas. Also, please make plans, if you are in town, to attend our Christmas morning worship celebration at 10:00 a.m. We will have one combined morning service only. We will not have Bible Fellowship on December 25 or January 1. The title of the message Christmas morning will be, "Don't Miss the Christ in Christmas."
Upcoming Sermons in December:
We will continue our trek through the Sermon on the Mount, from Matthew's Gospel, through the month of December, with the obvious exception of December 25. The schedule will be as follows:
December 11-"What Jesus Said about Divorce" (5:31-32)
December 18-"Adultery-A Matter of the Heart" (5:27-30)
See you Sunday!

Music Ministry
The Living Christmas Tree After months of planning and preparation the Living Christmas Tree is officially here. Numerous volunteers have spent countless hours learning music, designing lights, and constructing and decorating the tree. I am so thankful for so many people who have sacrificed so much to make this event possible. Be praying that the Lord would use the Tree to be an avenue for Field Street to share the message and story of our Lord, and pray that people would be receptive to that message. I hope that you will join us for one of our three presentations. I promise you will be blessed by all you hear and see! Friday, December 9th at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11th at 3:00 p.m. ADMISSION IS FREE The doors will open one hour earlier for a time of music led by Dr. Joe Martin (piano), Todd Evans, (cello), and Sharon Hawkins (violin). I look forward to seeing you there!
Blessings,
--Josh Thomas

Thank you, church family, for your generous contribution and participation with our annual Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection. We were able to donate a total of 124 shoeboxes this year, including 32 boxes that were collected through our AWANA program! Your contribution will make a positive impact on children all around the world.
All Children's Choirs and AWANA will be suspended during the Christmas holiday season and will resume on Wednesday, January 4th.
Car kits for our T&T AWANA Grand Prix (3rd-6th grades) are now available at no cost. Boxes need to be large enough for the child to sit in while they watch a movie that evening. Start collecting your boxes now and get an early start. March will be here before you know it!
Mark your calendars for Friday, February 24th, from 6-8 p.m. for our Family Night with Dennis Lee. Dennis Lee is a renown comedian, ventriloquist and singer. Senior Adult Ministry LOOKING BACK. . . I have to say that the "Thanksgiving Service" on November 22nd surpassed our every expectation. It was a wonderful worship experience that included music by Billy Cate, our Field Street Ladies' Trio, Joyful Sound and great congregational singing. I was moved by the "Lord, I want to thank You. . ." testimonies; the thoughtful prayer of Thanksgiving by Gene Gallagher; the fitting message by the pastor; and the wonderful spirit of the service. We'll certainly have to think about this kind of service again next November. JOYFUL SOUND. . . will be doing a ministry concert at Town Hall Estates on Tuesday, December 6th. This will bring our fall schedule to an end. YOUNG AT HEART AND JOYFUL SOUND. . . will begin the New Year on Tuesday, January 10th. Joyful Sound--9:30 AM in the choir room Young at Heart--10:45 AM in the Family Life Center FRIDAY, JANUARY 27TH. . .Young at Heart is sponsoring a trip to Southwestern Seminary for a Southern Gospel Concert. A sign-up list is in the church office. The cost is $20 per person. The money for this concert will be due on Tuesday, January 10th. --John Glover
