Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. . .
Thank you for praying about what God would lead you to give toward the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Our church goal is $65,000. As of September of this year, there are 3,667 IMB field personnel. Your giving helps to support their work. The IMB is working to reach every nation with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Currently, the IMB has engaged 811 people groups. Still, some estimates suggest that there are 3,200 unreached people groups. Therefore, our praying and giving is of paramount importance to making Christ known among the nations. I am asking God to enable our church to give generously and to His glory. Our offering ingathering is this Sunday!!
2019 Proposed Budget is Adopted and Approved. . .
The 2019 Proposed Budget passed by a vote tally of 278-yes and 1-no. Thank you for your support of our operating budget. I am excited about the prospects of a new year of ministry! I am so grateful to be a part of a church that is exemplary in giving. Thank you for being a responsive church to needs and opportunities.
The Living Christmas Tree. . . The LCT is upon us! I am looking forward to these presentations. I appreciate so many who give unselfishly to participate in this ministry. I am especially grateful to Billy for his leadership in bringing together a ministry of this magnitude. Thank you to all of you participating
in any capacity for the gift of your time, talent, and availability to make these presentations a reality. It's important to keep before our community and before one another the substantial reason for this Christmas season. What a privilege to lift up the name of Christ in our community and region through the Living Christmas Tree. May God be pleased to send the crowds, and may many be encouraged in their faith and others introduced to the One King! See you this weekend.
Special Sunday Schedule During Christmas Holidays. . .
Please note that we are adjusting our Sunday morning schedule during Christmas. On Sunday, December 23 and 30, we will have ONE morning service at 10:30 a.m. We will not have Bible Fellowship on these Sundays. Furthermore, on Christmas Eve we will host a significant service at 6:00 p.m. If you are in town, please make plans to be here on these special Sundays. And, if you do not already have plans for Christmas Eve, would you consider including the Christmas Eve service as part of your celebrations of Christ's birth. I assure you these gatherings will be meaningful and Christ-centered. What a great way to prepare one's heart for celebration the Lord's birth. Thank you.
Merry Christmas from the Halls!
My family would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas! We love you and continue to be grateful to God for His grace and kindness to us through our church family. You are a blessing in our lives. Thank you for your encouraging words, your prayers, and your love for our family. May the Lord especially make His presence known in your lives and homes during this Christmas season.
With much affection,
John Hall, Pastor

Senior Adult Ministry "We may laugh or we may moan, but all can ask 'where's this year gone?'" I can hardly believe it's. . .DECEMBER! 2018 is coming to a close and a New Year is on the horizon. I was talking with one of our Homebound members who just turned 100 a few months ago, and she made this remark, "I never thought I'd live this long." In 100 years, she has certainly seen a lot of changes--some good and some, not so good! Speaking of our Homebound members, our ministry staff will deliver Christmas bags on our visits in December. They will be filled with a delightful assortment of items ranging from socks to candy. It's just an effort to let them know how much they mean to our church family. YOUNG AT HEART HOLIDAY BANQUET was a great success. We had great weather, great attendance and a great program. It was so good to see and hear Matt and Caryn Martin singing once again with Suzanne Rains. it was a great night! JOYFUL SOUND will be quite busy in December. On Sunday morning, December 9, in both the 8:30 & 11:00 services, we will sing our Christmas music. And then, on Tuesday, December 11, we will present two concerts of Christmas music at Town Hall Estates and the Wren Place. --John Glover Return to top of page |
