Update on the Debt Elimination on the Children's Building
To date we now owe $355,012 on the Children's Building. We are getting closer and closer to paying off the indebtedness and we are within reach of our goal to pay off the entire debt by October of this year. Thank you for your continued faithfulness and sacrificial giving to retire the debt on this wonderful tool for ministry . If you have gotten behind on your commitment, or if you are new to Field Street and would like to contribute to help, you may catch up or join the ranks of contributors at any time! What a great day awaits us when we "burn the note" on the children's building.

Your Response to Lottie Moon
Together, we have given $46,793 to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Thank you. We fell just short of our church goal of $50,000. Nonetheless, your generosity will be used of God to resource those on the foreign mission field. Only God knows the full impact of your generous giving. Thank you, again, for being such a generous body of believers.

Pray for Our Personnel Committee
This year's Personnel Committee members are: Harold Gilliam (chr.), Dr. Don Goates, Dr. Dale Lucus, Joy McHargue, Gene Gallagher, and Ronda Bailey. Already, they have been tasked with the assignment of securing a new Student Minister. We are receiving resumes and names, and have reached out to several candidates already and conducted an initial interview. Please pray for the Lord's gracious guidance in and through this process. Please pray for our committee, students, parents, workers, and the students of Cleburne that God will send us the person He has next for us to lead our Student Ministry as we look forward to the days ahead.

Attend, Serve, Give, Pray, and Invite
just recently, someone asked me what the basic expectations of our membership are. I responded by saying, "We expect all of our members to attend, serve, give, pray, and invite." What might happen in our church if EVERY able-bodied member met just these expectations? Yet, there are some who more than meet these expectations! And, tragically, there are some who meet far less than these expectations. Your church needs YOU. And you need your CHURCH.

Dessert Auction Was a Blast
Wow! I never cease to be amazed at the joy of being a part of this fellowship, especially at our annual Student Ministry Dessert Auction. Once again, you outdid yourself with generosity. We received donations over $16,000! Praise God. Thank you, church! Thank you to those who served on the steering committee: Chris Cain, Jeana LeBlanc, Amy Simons, Kristin Mitchell, Trina Cody, Mindi Jackson, Heather Kelly.  Also, a special thank you to Sally Smith for her always capable assistance.

Music Ministry

We are in full swing in our spring schedule here in the Music Ministry and things are going great, but we are always looking for more people to get involved.  If you are looking for a place to get involved here at Field Street, then we have a place just for you. We are always looking for individuals to come and join our Adult Worship Choir. There is no experience required, just a heart willing to serve, lead, and learn. We meet Wednesday nights in the choir room from 7:00-8:15. We hope you will come and join us.

If serving behind the scenes is more up your alley, then we may have a place for you in our media ministry.

May the Lord continue to move and work in mighty ways in our midst as we come to worship Him each week.
God Bless,
--Josh Thomas

Senior Adult Ministry

'OH WHERE, OH WHERE". . . that little song about "my doggy" came to my mind as I began to write my eFocus article because I'm wondering "where" January has gone. We're already in the second month of 2017. Can you believe it? Well, at least we're off to a good beginning. Joyful Sound has started rehearsals and will be singing for the 8:30 service on February 12th. We are thrilled to have several new members and. . .more men! I'm excited to see how the Lord is going to use Joyful Sound for His glory.

WE'RE ALSO. . . off to a good start in Young at Heart. Our Valentine Banquet is just around the corner and wouldn't you know it, it's on Tuesday night, February 14th. The banquet will begin with a meal at 5:30 p.m. in the Family miscLife Center followed by the program in the worship center at 6:30 p.m. Providing our entertainment this year is Tammy Whitehurst. In addition to her new book, "Unconditional JOY," Tammy authored a devotional with companion CD, "Throw It All Down and Laugh!" Her first article was published with Christianity Today titled, "Busyness Is Not a Spiritual Gift." Her articles have also appeared in Homelife, Just Between Us, Mature Years, Mature Living, CBN and several other Christian publishers. "We Gotta Laugh to Live" is her program theme. I hope you won't miss this wonderful opportunity

BY NOW. . . most of our folks have heard the sad news about Dr. Paul Powell's passing. This was the second year he was supposed to be with us for our Senior Adult Revival, but the Lord had other plans for him. You're not going to be disappointed because in God's providence Dr. Fred Meeks has agreed to fill this spot. He is a former pastor of First Baptist in Plainview; a professor at Wayland Baptist University and a close friend of mine for many years. You will enjoy his presence and his preaching. Remember the date: April 23-26.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S JOB CORPS

Christian Women's Job Corps had a very successful Chili Cook-off on January 14. We raised almost $9,000, which is over half of our proposed budget.  Thank you to all those who worked to support this year's fund raiser.

For this spring semester we have 9 committed participants.  They will soon be partnered with a Journey Partner/mentor to provide encouragement and prayer support during this spring semester.

Please keep us in your prayers during this spring semester.
