From Our Pastor
Spectacular Sundays in May
Sundays in the month of May will prove to be special. Please plan to make every effort to be a part of the unique emphases we will observe each Sunday. First, on Sunday night,
May 7, we will have our children's choirs awards program and spring musical. Annually, this is one of our most enjoyable evening services of the year. Second,
May 14 is Mother's Day and Parent/Child Dedication. We will have the parent/child dedication as part of the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Honor your mom and Lord by being in church on Mother's Day! Third, May 21 is Senior Recognition Sunday. We will recognize our graduating seniors and their families as apart of the 11:00 a.m. worship service. I believe the Lord has given me a very particular message for this special Sunday! A breakfast is planned for our graduating seniors and their families at 9:45 a.m. in the dining room. Finally, on May 28 we will have a brief time of commissioning those who will be participating in the Dominican Republic Mission Trip, June 3-9. As stated, May is going to be great at Field Street. Don't miss it!
Debt Reduction on the Children's Building
By the grace of God and the faithfulness of those who are giving to help eliminate the remaining debt on the children's building, we are making very good progress. To date we owe about $289,000 on the children's building. THANK YOU for your faithful, sacrificial giving. I know that money is very tight for all of us. I get it. However, we are within reach of our goal of paying off the debt by October. As the Lord leads you, please give to help us realize the goal of eliminating the debt on the children's building.
Summer Ministries
We have a full summer of ministry programming, especially ministry opportunities
for children and students. I am asking God to bless our efforts this summer. I am praying that we will see many saved. I am praying that we will see lives truly and deeply impacted by worship services, Bible studies, VBS, backyard Bible clubs, camps, and mission trips. I am hoping that our summer will be fruitful in terms of life change. Will you join me in asking God to grant us increase and fruitfulness for the sake of the Kingdom? We are going to have a great summer! Be watching for the unveiling of dates and plans.
Summer Sermon Emphasis--NEXT STEPS
During the summer weeks I plan to preach a series of messages entitled, "NEXT STEPS." All of us have next steps we are
to take in our walk with Christ. The Bible never envisions stagnation in our experience with the Lord. We are to be moving constantly toward maturity in the faith. Yet, what are the next steps for each of us? I can't answer that question on an individual basis, but God's Word gives us some clarity and direction as we look to our own next steps. Don't miss this series of messages this summer! Also, please pray for these messages to stimulate us toward being like Jesus!
See you Sunday!

Senior Adult Ministry JUST A QUICK LOOK BACK. . .at our annual Senior Adult Revival that took place on April 23-26. The Lord blessed us with good weather; good attendance; good music with Joyful Sound; good preaching and teaching from Dr. Fred Meeks; and wonderful meals after the noon-day services. It was a great week! JOYFUL SOUND. . .finished up their spring with a concert at the Wren Place on Tuesday, May 2. This marked the end of an exciting fall and spring. They filled the choir loft every service for the revival and have been so faithful throughout the year. I appreciate them so much. OUR LAST. . . Young at Heart for the spring will be Tuesday, May 9. At this meeting we'll be making the final list of those who are going to the Patriotic Service at Green Acres in Tyler in June. It's going to be a great trip and memorable presentation. --John Glover
