Orphan Sunday-November 13

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is Coming!
The LMCO is the MOST IMPORTANT designated offering we receive annually as a congregation. I am asking and challenging you to please plan and prepare to give exceedingly generously to this offering. Our church offering goal is $50,000. The ingathering for this offering is Sunday, December 18. My family saves all year to give generously to this offering. We believe it is a great Kingdom investment to partner with God and others in helping to resource the work of our international missionaries in proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your due consideration. Let's shatter this offering goal, to the glory of God, on ingathering Sunday!

The Living Christmas Tree
Please continue to pray for this ministry to our community and region December 9-11. Pray for Josh, singers, tech crew, sound crew, and a host of others who contribute unselfishly to make this ministry gift possible to the people of our area. May God draw people to these presentations where they will hear the message of Christ during this special season of Christmas.

See you Sunday!

The Living Christmas Tree

It is hard to believe that it is already November and our Living Christmas Tree presentations are just around the corner! We have been preparing an incredible collection of music entitled "Glory Divine." There have been so many different people putting in so much time and effort to prepare for this time of celebration of our Lord's birth. It is sure to be a wonderful time of celebration and worship together.

Be sure to mark the dates on your calendar:

Friday, December 9th at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, December 11th at 3:00 p.m.

The doors will open one hour earlier for a time of music led by Dr. Joe Martin (piano), Todd Evans, (cello), and Sharon Hawkins (violin). I look forward to seeing you there!

Living Christmas Tree Construction

TREEOn Sunday, November 27, following the 11:00 a.m. service we will construct the Living Christmas Tree. This is a HUGE undertaking and we need your help! Lunch will be provided after the service in the dining room. If you are interested in taking part in this, please contact Josh Thomas.

International Missions
There are a number of opportunities for you to be involved in International Missions...to go, to give, to pray! Please read on:

Cambodia Mission Trip
Currently 2 of our members are in Cambodia. Bryans and Brenda Fitzhugh have been there for a couple of weeks. SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST: Please pray for Brenda. She broke her leg and they are in the process of trying to get her home. Pray that she can get home quickly and pray for her as she recovers.

Dominican Republic Mission Trip
June 3-9
A group of adults, students and families will be ministering to the community. If you have an interest in participating in this trip, see Daniel Morrow or Beth Hall.

Poland Mission Trip
July, 2017
A group of adults will be conducting an English Camp, similar to our VBS. There are also plans to work with the Warsaw Baptist Seminary. This will be a wonderful opportunity! Be watching for more details.

Please be in pray for these teams as they make preparations for these trips. In the coming months, you will have opportunities to give to these trips to help offset costs of the participants.

Student Ministry

NOVEMBER is here; I can hardly believe it! Field Street Student Ministry is still humming along as we hit the home stretch of the school semester. Our students have remained actively involved in many areas, and have been preparing for events to come in the near future.

Two such events are Girly/Burly and Growth Weekend. Girly/Burly will be a completely student-led event, coming up on December 16th. Students will compete in an evening full of "Battle of the Sexes" competitions to prove who is the best at Field Street: Girls or Boys? This is going to be an awesome time together to celebrate the end of the school semester!

Growth Weekend is our annual Disciple Now weekend; I cannot wait to see how the Lord is going to move among our students during this special weekend! Growth Weekend will be January 13-15, 2017. We have decided to switch things up a little bit this year, and will actually be spending a majority of the weekend at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Encampment in Cedar Hill, Texas. Be on the lookout very soon for ways that you can partner with us for Growth Weekend!

Than you for your continued support and prayers for Field Street Student Ministry. The Lord has been so good to us over the past two years. It is an honor to serve alongside so many faithful people here at Field Street.

Grace and Peace,
--Daniel Morrow

Senior Adult Ministry

CAN'T BELIEVE. . . I'm writing about the "end of the year" events. It's hard to believe that the year has gone so quickly. Here's some things that will be happening in the next few weeks.

Tuesday, November 8--is our last "regular" Young at Heart meeting for 2016. Out special guest will be Brent Shields, the worship pastor at Bethel Temple. Brent was my neighbor to the east for several years.

Tuesday night, November 22-- this is the time for our Holiday Banquet. It will begin with a meal at 5:30 PM in the FLC, followed by the program at 6:30 PM in the Worship Center.  Since Thanksgiving does not add a lot to the "coffers" as far as retail sales are concerned, it has been "tucked away" into almost "forgottenness." Our Holiday Banquet will be an effort to break that trend. Our meal will be "stew, cornbread, salad and cobbler. Our program will be a "time of thanksgiving" through Scripture, music and testimony. We have invited several other churches to join us for the meal and service. I pray that it will be very much like the early church in Acts 2, "Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people."

Sunday, December 4--Joyful Sound will sing in both the 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. services. This will actually be the official beginning of "Christmas Music" in our services. It will be followed by the Children's Choirs Christmas Celebration and musical the evening of the 4th. Of course, the Living Christmas Tree is coming the 9th, 10th, & 11th.

senior adults

MABS. . .(Monday Afternoon Bible Study) will wind up on November 14th. I have really enjoyed teaching these sessions on the life of Joseph. I'm already studying for two studies in the early part of 2017.
