  • Fleet Safety Council Chapters Announce Special December Meetings: It's time once again to get your favorite holiday sweater ready! Several FSC Chapters have announced their annual December meetings. Each of these chapters will also be accepting donations for local food banks. Registration is required for each meeting.   • Save the Date! Following the success of the 32nd Annual FSC Educational Conference the committee has announced that the 33rd Annual Conference will be taking place on Friday October 25th, 2024 and will once again be taking place at Millennium Gardens Banquet Centre. The Conference Committee will be meeting soon to start the planning - stay tuned for more details.

  • Reminder - eLearning courses available for free for a limited time: High-quality workplace health and safety training is now more accessible than ever. Until March 31, 2024, Ontario businesses in the construction, transportation, and electrical utilities industries can access more than two dozen of IHSA’s online training programs for free.   • Did You Know? In October, IHSA trained 3,599 people in 525 classes. Another 3,885 people took an IHSA eLearning course. So far in 2023, IHSA has trained 47,597 people in 6,306 classes, plus 13,726 people through eLearning. Click here for the complete IHSA training list!


  • IHSA announces modest price increases for some health and safety products and services: The Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), with the support of its Board of Directors, is informing its members of a price increase for some IHSA programs and services, effective April 1, 2024. Reminder: New winter driving video series is now available on YouTube!


IHSA's new winter driving series, is now available on YouTube. It consists of five micro-learning videos with reminders for all road users. Topics include an introduction to winter driving, being alert and prepared, inspecting your vehicle, maximizing traction and seeing and being seen.

Occupational Health Update


Ontario Silica Control Tool Now Available!


This new tool will assist employers in conducting appropriate risk assessments and implementing effective controls and safe work practices where respirable crystalline silica (RCS) dust may be an occupational hazard. 


Through the compilation of data relating to RCS dust exposures pertaining to various materials, tools and tasks in construction, the Tool can predict the expected exposures to workers under similar conditions.

9-8-8 number for mental health and suicide prevention now available!


The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has launched the new 9-8-8 number to call or text from anywhere in Canada for free.


Callers will be directed to the appropriate mental health crisis or suicide prevention service in their area.
