FSC 33rd Annual Educational Conference a Success!


The 33rd Annual FSC Conference was a huge success once again. Thank you to the FSC Conference Committee for all of their efforts in putting together a fantastic educational event that included over 230 delegates and more than 40 sponsors.

Tara Whiteman Named the FSC Provincial Safety Professional of the Year 2024


The FSC recognized Tara Whiteman of Kriska Holdings Ltd. as the Provincial Safety Professional of the Year sponsored by TruckRight. The announcement took place at the annual conference networking reception on October 24th where Tara was announced as the 2024 winner and received her embroidered leather jacket a a cheque for $2,500.

Eric Melo Named the FSC Provincial Driver of the Year 2024


The FSC recognized Eric Melo of Mill Creek Motor Freight as the Provincial Driver of the Year sponsored by TruckRight. The announcement took place at the annual conference networking reception on October 24th where Eric was announced as the 2024 winner and received her embroidered leather jacket a a cheque for $2,500.

Trucking HR Canada Updates:


Labour Market Snapshot: THRC has released the Q2 2024 Labour Market Snapshot which shows that the transportation sector added 13,600 jobs in Q2 2024, mostly in positions other than transport truck drivers. (Click here to view the full report).


Top Fleet Employer Program 2025: Trucking HR Canada is now accepting applications for the 2025 Top Fleet Employers program. The deadline to submit applications is February 14, 2025.   • MADD Canada - Project Red Ribbon: YOU can help prevent impaired driving by joining MADD Canada’s Project Red Ribbon campaign! Project Red Ribbon is an annual awareness campaign to promote sober driving during the holiday season. It is the busiest time of year on most social calendars and the risk for impaired driving is high. (Read more)
  • Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police - Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign: Taking place from November 14 - January 2. The campaign strategy's aim is to take alcohol and drug-impaired drivers off the roads. Always plan ahead by having a designated driver, staying overnight, or taking a cab or public transportation. There is never an excuse for impaired driving. (Read more)
  • Regulatory Registry Alert: Proposed framework for an Automated Commercial Motor Vehicle (ACMV) Pilot Program. The MTO is proposing a framework for a 10-year Automated Commercial Motor Vehicle (ACMV) Pilot Program that may be implemented through a new regulation under the Highway Traffic Act. The pilot program would permit eligible participants to test specific ACMVs (i.e., trucks over 4,500kg) on Ontario's roads, under defined conditions. Open for comments until November 14 2024.   • Road Safety at Work - Plan and Manage Trips: This month’s road safety goal is to reduce driving-related risks through proactive trip planning and journey management, including finding ways to eliminate unnecessary driving by employees. (Read more)
