FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Foods (PCHF) Curriculum Update
The Alliance Work Group tasked with updating the FSPCA PCHF curriculum is currently working on Chapter 16, the regulatory chapter, and will next review the appendices. The group remains on track to meet the year-end 2022 goal for completion of the presentation component of the curriculum. The Work Group has planned a face-to-face meeting in December to conduct a walk-through of all updated curriculum chapter slides to assure that gaps have been filled and that necessary regulatory updates are reflected in the material. Along with this, there will be focus on ensuring consistency and deliverability.

As part of this update, the Work Group would like to add more teaching examples for Lead Instructors to use in their participant courses. For this, we encourage our Lead Instructors to consider creating new teaching examples using the guidelines and templates provided on FSPCA’s website. Any new teaching examples will be required to go through a vesting process, per FSPCA guidelines, before they can be published on the FSPCA Human Food Lead Instructor Resource Portal.

Simultaneously, the FSPCA is working on an implementation plan for updating all FSPCA PCHF Lead Instructors on the changes within the curriculum, and as part of this, will host mandatory Lead Instructor webinars after the revised curriculum is piloted sometime in 2023.
