NEW "STATE OF THE ART" E175 AIRCRAFT MAKES IT DEBUT AT SUN
This new next generation "state of the art" aircraft is now serving SUN! United is flying the more spacious E175 on its daily SFO and DEN nonstop routes, and Delta is flying it on its weekly Saturday SEA nonstop route. PURSUING POSSIBILITIES WITH AIRLINES Fly Sun Valley Alliance recently attended the annual Airports Council International conference and met with a number of key airline decision makers to discuss future service opportunities. The interest in additional service is certainly not unique to SUN, in fact, representatives from 202 airports attended to meet with officials from 26 different airlines, which demonstrates just how extremely competitive it is to secure new and expanded service these days. But we had some very positive discussions and are excited to continue to pursue potential new opportunities.
ALASKA AIRLINES PLANS FLIGHT TO CHASE 'THE GREAT AMERICAN ECLIPSE
Alaska Airlines is chasing "The Great American Eclipse" on August 21, with a special charter flight for select astronomy enthusiasts and eclipse chasers to experience totality from 35,000+ feet above the earth.
The flight will depart Portland at 7:30 a.m. PDT and fly off the coast of Oregon, allowing guests on board to be among the first of millions to witness this phenomenon. The invitation-only flight is not commercially bookable, but Alaska Airlines is giving one lucky fan and a guest a chance to win a seat on the flight. The contest begins July 21 on Alaska Airlines' social media channels. Follow them to sign up!
