Blaine County residents will have the opportunity to enroll in TSA Pre✓® at Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN) for five days starting Monday, June 24, 2019. This is the first time SUN has hosted a TSA Pre✓® enrollment opportunity. If you have ever wanted to get TSA Pre✓® status for every flight, or if you need to renew, this will be a great opportunity. Cost is $85.
The temporary TSA Pre✓® enrollment center will be open Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28. It will be located in the airport terminal conference room. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The address is 1616 Airport Circle in Hailey, Idaho.
Across the country, travelers eligible for TSA Pre✓® screening can leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt during when going through the security checkpoint. In dedicated TSA Pre✓®
lanes, travelers can leave their laptops, electronics larger than a cell phone and travel-size liquids in their carry-on luggage during the security checkpoint screening process. At key times during the day, TSA is now operating a dedicated TSA Pre✓® lane at SUN.
The Transportation Security Administration is predicting summer 2019 will be the busiest summer on record, so now is an excellent time to enroll in TSA Pre✓®. Recent statistics show
that 92% of TSA Pre✓®-eligible passengers
waited less than five minutes to be screened through security checkpoints nationwide. Another benefit of the program is that children 12 and under are permitted to use the TSA Pre✓® lane when traveling with an eligible parent or guardian.

EARLY AIRPORT ARRIVAL VERY IMPORTANT THIS SUMMER!
2 HOURS PRIOR TO FLIGHT DEPARTURE, NO LATER THAN 90 MINUTES
The summer flight schedule at SUN is set and the morning departure bank is expected to be very busy with four flights between 6:55 am and 8:40 am, scheduled as such by the airlines to connect with their hub city flight banks.
Salt Lake City - Delta 6:55 am Los Angeles - United 7:10 am Denver - United 8:10 am San Francisco - United 8:40 am
Applying lessons learned from last year's busy summer with three morning flights, the airport has worked closely with the TSA and the airlines to make improvements where feasible to ensure a smooth departure experience this summer for SUN air travelers. Key changes will include TSA PreCheck during specified time periods, and hosts at the checkpoint entrance to assist queuing passengers. These process related enhancements will help, but it will still be very busy.
So, it is more important than ever that you plan to arrive at SUN at least 2 hours, and no later than 90 minutes, prior to your scheduled flight departure time, especially if you are on a morning flight. Don't take the chance of missing your flight by showing up too late.
