Last month, coalition members and supporters gathered virtually to discuss topics at the forefront of their work. The meeting presentation can be viewed separately, but here we include topic highlights:
Adam Crosby, Delaware Greenways' GIS Community Outreach Coordinator, reviewed results from the Steering Committee'ssurvey, which asked the coalition about program priorities for 2020-2021.
As part of that survey, it was agreed by members that a need exists for increased trail usage data and trail safety awareness. A group of members volunteered to form a Trail Usage and Safety Committee for the FTND study area. The committee will delve deeper into these two topics, to create a path forward.
FTND Coalition Member, Delaware Greenways announced their Trail Amenities Matching Grant Program. The grant, that will provide added trail amenities (ex. signage, bike racks, benches, fix-it stations) for an existing trail, is open for FTND Coalition members and supporters to apply, through January 31, 2021. Grant awards will be distributed prior to March 15, 2021.
The latest developments on four of the priority trail projects in the study area; Commons Blvd, Newport River, Brandywine Heritage Trails and the Governor Printz Blvd Corridor Plan, were reviewed.
