We encourage New York State Family Peer Support Providers, Youth Peer Advocates, health plans, Performing Provider Systems, health homes, health care/hospital systems and other service providers to attend and receive timely and pertinent education & information on services, collaborations and practices in our children's health and behavioral health system.
Electrifying and Inspiring Opening Ceremony Signals Start of the 2019 Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi in Breathtaking Style! Some of the biggest names in music delivered a thrilling rendition of the official World Games anthem ‘Right Where I’m Supposed To Be’ for the very first time. The new anthem is a sensational celebration of the spirit of Special Olympics and Abu Dhabi’s goal of creating a more inclusive world that truly values the contributions of every individual, regardless of ability. More than 7,000 athletes from 170 countries will compete in 24 summer sports, along with 2,500 coaches and 20,000 volunteers. This training is intended for all Family Peer Advocates, Youth Peer Advocates, Supervisors and Directors
supporting these services.
As a result of this training, staff will:
o Understand the New York State Model of Wraparound
o Demonstrate Ability to Serve Families within the NYS Model of Wraparound
o Utilize the Unique Opportunity within Peer Services to Support Wraparound

Family Peer Advocate 2 Day In-Person Training in Central NY! Registration for the PEP 2 day in-person training for Family Peer Advocates is open. The Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) Training is a combination of online modules, a 2 day, in-person training and 12 coaching calls. Completion of the PEP training is a requirement for the Family Peer Advocate Professional Credential. Registration forms and more information about the PEP training and FPA Credential can be found on the FTNYS website under the Workforce Development tab.

and services becoming billable in January 2020, we invite program directors, supervisors and agencies to participate in our readiness survey Please share this with agencies that are providing YPA services, plan to, or are even on the fence. Your input will help guide the development of tools, guidance, and support offered statewide.

Families Together in New York State Inc., is seeking one dynamic Family Peer candidate for a flexible position within the 19 counties of the Office of Mental Health Western Region

A Family Peer Advocate's function is to:

1.       Promotes and advocates for parent/caregiver lived experience
2.       Advances family driven care, youth guided philosophy
3.       Inclusion of family peer support within all child serving systems
4.       Brings awareness of strengths, needs and gaps in the behavioral health systems
5.       Provides education to families and technical assistance to child service system partners,
6.       Fosters understanding of shared and equal decision making with parents and providers.
