Gov. Reynolds Issues Proclamation for Ease of Access to Transportation Fuels

Thursday, October 29, Governor Kim Reynolds issued a proclamation to ease restrictions for transportation of and access to motor fuels.

The proclamation is effective immediately and continues through 11:59 p.m. on November 28, 2026. It suspends the regulatory provisions of Iowa Code pertaining to hours of service for crews and drivers delivering diesel, gasoline or gasoline blends, ethanol and biodiesel into or within the state of Iowa. FUELIowa Board Elections: Nominations Now Open!

The deadline for nominations to the FUELIowa Board of Directors for terms running 2027–2028 is fast approaching.

Seven board seats are up for election this year: (3) Fuel Marketer Jobber, (2) Fuel Marketer – At Large, (1) Fuel Marketer Co-op, and (1) Associate Equipment Installer.

All current incumbents have announced they are seeking re-election for their respective seats.

Members interested in serving or making a nomination may contact the Nominating Committee—Jason Stauffer, Dennis Jaeger, or Chad Besch—to learn more about board responsibilities, qualifications or any other questions related to the FUELIowa Board of Directors.

Nominations close Tuesday, November 10 so ballots can be finalized and mailed no later than December 1.

Vapor Products Directory Update

The Department expects to publish the first vapor products directory on Monday, November 16, 2026. The directory will be in effect once published, and only those vapor products included in the directory may be sold or offered for sale in Iowa. For the first twenty-one business days after the initial publication, the Department will focus on education to help businesses understand and comply with the directory.

The Department expects to begin enforcing penalties for violations of the vapor products directory on Thursday, December 17, 2026.
