FULL CLOSURE OF ON-RAMPS FROM NEWTOWN ROAD TO I-264 WEST SCHEDULED THIS WEEK
Detour in place while nighttime work is underway
NORFOLK/VIRGINIA BEACH – As progress continues on the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements Project this week, crews are scheduled to implement a series of full, overnight closures of the on-ramps from Newtown Road to I-264 west.

On March 22, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation will close the on-ramp from northbound Newtown Road to I-264 west, as early as 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. A signed detour will direct motorists to utilize Virginia Beach Boulevard and Witchduck Road to re-access I-264 west.

On March 23, crews will close the on-ramp from southbound Newtown Road to I-264 west, as early as 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. A signed detour will direct motorists to utilize the roundabout at Greenwich Road to re-access I-264 west via the northbound Newtown Road on-ramp.

The on-ramps will not be closed concurrently.

This paving work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
