Electronic Giving or Egiving, as it is shortened, is an important, effective and convenient method of contribution giving. For example, your church received $229,499.07 by this method in 2023. However, there is a cost.
Depending on the source of your contribution, whether it is an ACH or draft on your checking account or a debit or credit card, we pay either 1% or 2.3% plus $0.30 per transaction. These fees are subtracted from the contribution before we receive it. If you contribute $100 through a draft, we receive $99.00 and Subsplash gets the $1.00 as their fee. In 2023, we paid
Subsplash $ 4,816.12 in fees.
There is an option, called donor-covered fees, where in the above example, Subsplash would take $101.00 out of your account and send us $100.00. On your contribution report that we mail quarterly, your contribution would be shown as $101.00. Your Finance Committee has discussed this option and
voted to offer this option to you effective June 1st. You would have to go into your Subsplash account and make a change to cover the fee if you are on a recurring contribution. If you do not wish to make this change, no action is required from you. If you use Subsplash each time you contribute, a window
will pop up on your screen asking if you want to cover the fee.
I realize this may not be for everyone but it is a small way to help the finances of your church. If you need help in making the change or have any questions, please contact me. Thank you for time and consideration.
