On Sunday, March 8 we celebrated the baptism of Owen Freeman and his dad, Devon. Devon and Marlee joined our church family at the close of the Contemporary Service.

Sunday, March 29th

Join us for Palm Sunday at our 9am Contemporary service or 11am Traditional service! There will be a palm processional for the children and special music.

Rev. Weldon will bring the message on the words of Jesus, "Father, Forgive Them."

Come back at 4:00 pm and join us for the Easter Egg Hunt!

Holy Week Services

Maundy Thursday Service

Thursday, April 2

Sanctuary

This service is a somber reflection on the last supper of Jesus and his disciples. The service includes scripture readings, hymns, holy communion and concludes with the stripping of the church ceremony.

Good Friday Choir Cantata

Friday, April 3

Join the choir and chamber orchestra on Good Friday, April 3rd, at 6:00 pm, as they perform "Wondrous Love" by Lloyd Larson. This work recounts the earthly life and ministry of Jesus, the love story of God sending His Son to redeem all of humanity so that we might be eternally united with Him. We will have soloists, along with flute, clarinet, trumpet, horn, trombone, and percussion.

Collection Corner

We have many opportunities for donations at FUMCLC. Our collection table outside Paxton Hall is now accepting Community Coffee labels for Kaufman Elementary, jelly and peanut butter for Faith and Friends Food Pantry, mosquito spray and wipes and blessing bags for our Homeless Ministry. Thank you for supporting our local community!

Crawfish and Calcashoo



On Sunday, April 26^th we will be having Crawfish & Calcashoo: Good Time Family Band! This event will be at 5pm in Paxton Hall. Tickets must be purchased in advance by April 17th. Each ticket is $25 per person and can be purchased by calling the church office (337)436-6656.

Houston Astros Road Trip



Saturday, June 6th

Athletics at Astros



Our Houston Astros Road Trip will be on Saturday, June 6th. We will leave for Houston at 10am on a charter bus with a lunch stop at Buc-ee’s. Sign up by calling the church office. The cost is $124 per person - this includes the game ticket and bus transportation (and a $15 food credit at the game).

Musical Offering

Musical Offering is a wonderful opportunity to prepare for worship and to hear local musicians graciously offering their time and talents to our church. It runs from the first Sunday in February to Mother's Day each year and takes place 10 minutes before worship. Those involved range from professors and students from McNeese, local performing artists, and even members of our church! Pictured above is Dr. Spencer Brand and his trumpet ensemble from McNeese from a recent service.

Rev. Weldon has published 140 of his favorite columns for “A Pastor’s Reflection.” The book is available in the church office and also on Amazon.com.

Methodist Children's Home Good Buck Store

Help stock the Good Buck Store for the Methodist Children’s Home with fun items, such as puzzles, books, markers, stickers, (nothing with wires, glass, staples, nor stuffed animals). There is a table indicating ‘GOOD BUCK STORE’ outside of Paxton Hall.
