The choir is looking for new members! If you have ever sung in a choir or considered singing in one, join us on Tuesday, August 4th, at 6:00 pm to see if you like it. Practice is in the choir room on the 2nd floor. Any voice part is welcome; we especially need sopranos, altos, and tenors!

On Sunday, August 9th, kids will receive a special blessing from Rev. Weldon during both the 9am Contemporary Service and 11am Traditional service, as they enter the new school year!

All kids in grades 2 and above are invited to attend Acolyte Training Sunday, August 9th at 10 am in the Sanctuary. Parents are encouraged to attend, also. Acolytes serve by lighting the candles, and carrying the cross each Sunday at our 11 am Traditional Service.

The Methodist Children's Home will be having "Squeeze the Day 5K" at Sam Houston Park on Saturday, September 12th to fundraise for the home.
The run begins at 8am with either a 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run.

Join us for Music Bingo on Sunday, September 20th from 4-6 PM in Paxton Hall! It'll be an afternoon full of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition as we test our music knowledge and compete for great prizes. We'll be serving Frito pie, popcorn, and cookies - everyone is invited!
Ms. Ann will have special activities for the kiddos upstairs!

September 25-26
Renowned composer Mark Hayes is coming to our church for a composer weekend September 25-26! He will rehearse with the choir, host a free keyboard workshop that focuses on improvisation in worship services, and perform and direct his music in Sunday morning worship. Anyone interested in participating can reach out to Emmie about singing with the choir or attending the keyboard workshop.

Rev. Weldon will be leading a trip to Charleston, Savannah, St. Simons Island & Jekyll Island in March of 2027! The trip is called: "Southern Charm."

Sundays in August
During the month of August, First Methodist Women will be accepting Twin Bedding for the Methodist Children’s Home (now all girls). This will be a church-wide mission project. Tables are outside of the Worship Center and Paxton Hall to gather the Twin Bedding. Thank you!

Beverly, Kentucky
Each year we take a group of volunteers to Beverly, Kentucky to help with home repairs and projects at the Red Bird Mission campus. This year’s dates are October 17-24th. Email our program director to sign up. Please sign up by September 1st.

We have many opportunities for donations at our church. Our collection table outside Paxton Hall is accepting Community Coffee labels, baby wipes and Clorox wipes for Kaufman Elementary, bread, jelly and peanut butter for Faith and Friends Food Pantry, mosquito spray and wipes and blessing bags for our Homeless Ministry. Thank you for supporting our local community!

Sunday School
Join Ms. Ann in the Children's Wing on the second floor every Sunday morning for Sunday School. We will have music, stories and a fun craft for kids age 3 through fifth grade.
The new Sunday School lesson will be on the 'Fruits of the Spirit'!
