Baptisms & New Member Celebrations!






Grace Williamson and Kade Richards were baptized and joined First United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 11. Welcome to our church family, we are so happy you joined us!


Wednesday Bible Study

Starting Wednesday, February 4th

10am or 6pm

All are welcome to attend our first Wednesday Bible Study for 2026 on “The God You Need to Know” by Margaret Feinberg. Study guides are $15. Invite a friend and join us at 10 am or 6 pm in room 109 on Wednesdays, starting February 4.

SOUPer Bowl Sunday

Sunday, February 8th


SOUPer Bowl Sunday will be on February 8th! Please bring one can of soup to church to donate to our local food pantries. Tables will be set up outside the Worship Center and Paxton Hall for this collection.



Monthly Prayer Service

Thursday, February 5th

6-7pm

Chapel (2nd floor)



All are invited to join us for our Monthly Prayer Service. Each meeting will be a time of worship, devotion, and prayer to grow in faith, find encouragement, and share in prayer. Our February Prayer Service is on Thursday, February 5, in the Chapel from 6 – 7 pm.

Ash Wednesday Services will be on February 18th at both 12pm and 6pm. There will be a light lunch in Paxton Hall following the noon service. All are welcome!

Collection Corner



We have many opportunities for donations at FUMCLC. Our collection table outside Paxton Hall is now accepting Community Coffee labels for Kaufman Elementary, jelly and peanut butter for Faith and Friends Food Pantry, socks, gloves, and blessing bags for our Homeless Ministry. Thank you for supporting our local community!

Lenten Study

Starting Sunday, March 1st

5:30pm meal & 6-7pm study

Paxton Hall


Join Rev. Weldon Bares for our Lenten Bible Study on “Why Did Jesus Have to Die” by Adam Hamilton. This 3-week study begins on Sunday, March 1st in Paxton Hall. The meal will begin at 5:30pm and the study at 6pm. All are welcome!

 



Craft and Connect

Save the date! Our next Craft and Connect group will meet on Monday, March 2nd in Room 110. We will be making a table -top Easter Garden. This activity fee will be $10 and please bring a snack to share.

Rev. Weldon has published 140 of his favorite columns for “A Pastor’s Reflection.” The book is available in the church office and also on Amazon.com. It makes a great Christmas gift!

 



Kid's Corner

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Children's Wing

All children ages 3 through fifth grade are invited to join Mrs. Ann each Sunday morning for Sunday School. The Children's Wing is located on the second floor.


Youth Sunday School Study Starting February 1

Starting Sunday, February 1st, the youth will be discussing the “Essentials of Faith” during the Sunday school hour. This video series answers questions like, “What is a Christian?”, “Why Does Jesus Matter?”, “Why Do We Need the Bible?”, “How Do We Live as Christians?”, and other topics related to helping young people understand the fundamentals of Christianity. 




Join us on the Third Floor at 10:00 every Sunday!
