Baptisms & New Member Celebrations!



Rachelle and Anthony Lomonoco joined our church family on December 14 at the Contemporary Service. Welcome to our church family, we are so happy you joined us!



Clay Netherland joined our church family on December 21 at the Contemporary service. Clay has been worshipping and volunteering with us for several months. Welcome to our church family, Clay!



Sarah Longnion was baptized and joined our church family on December 21 at the Traditional service. Sarah has worshiped online for months via our live-stream broadcast. She recently joined our in-person worship and made her commitment to Christ and our church through Baptism and membership. Welcome Sarah!


2025 A Year in Review

Prison Ministry Orientation

January 13/14th - 6pm

Paxton Hall



Our prison ministry orientation will be on January 13th and 14th at 6pm in Paxton Hall. Please attend one of these dates to become a part of our prison ministry team. If you have not been to this event before, you will need to fill out an application and have a letter of reference from your pastor.

Grief Share


Grieving the loss of a loved one? First United Methodist Church is hosting two GriefShare grief support groups that begin in January, January 13 – April 21, 2026, at 9:30 am OR 6:00 pm. At GriefShare you’ll watch a weekly video with counsel and insights from respected grief experts and relatable personal stories—followed by a time of sharing and support. Session topics include what's normal in grief; how to handle difficult emotions; and what to do with regrets, questions, and worries. For more information and to register visit griefshare.org.



Collection Corner

We have many opportunities for donations at our church. Our collection table outside Paxton Hall is now accepting Community Coffee labels for Kaufman Elementary, jelly and peanut butter for Faith and Friends Food Pantry, socks, gloves, and blessing bags for our Homeless Ministry. Thank you for supporting our local community!


Sunday Small Groups

Every Sunday morning at 10am, our church has several opportunities for adults, children and youth to meet for Sunday small groups. We offer 7 adult classes on both the 1st and 3rd floors, a children’s wing on the 2nd floor, and a youth wing on the 3rd floor.  


First Wednesday Prayer

The Chapel


All are invited to be part of our Monthly Prayer Service each first Wednesday of the month. Each meeting will a time of worship, devotion, and prayer to grow in faith, find encouragement, and shared prayer. The first service is on January 7, 2026, in the Chapel, on the 2nd floor, from 6 – 7 pm.

Special Delivery to the Methodist Children's Home


Our First Methodist Women collected items for stockings to deliver to the Methodist Children's Home in Sulphur. Nelda Jefferies made the stockings for each resident and Beverly Haden and Jane Reynolds stuffed and delivered them.

Rev. Weldon has published 140 of his favorite columns for “A Pastor’s Reflection.” The book is available in the church office and also on Amazon.com. It makes a great Christmas gift!
