Baptisms & New Member Celebrations!






 

On Sunday, February 8 we celebrated the baptism of Bennett James Theard, son of Blaise and Sara (Thibodeaux) Theard. Big sisters are Ella and Sophie. Grandparents are Sharon and Harold Thibodeaux.








On Sunday, February 22 we celebrated the baptism of Ella Renee Hunt and her father, Colton. Colton and Cassie Hunt also joined our church family on this day. Welcome!

 








On Sunday, February 22 Brian and Tiffany Abshire joined at the 11:00 service. Welcome to our church family.

 










On Sunday, March 1 we celebrated the baptism of Jackson Stroud Windham at the 11:00 service. Parents are Jordan and Sarah (Rentrop) Windham. Big brother is George and grandparents are Emily and David Rentrop.

 



Lenten Bible Study

Starting Sunday, March 1st

5:30pm meal & 6-7pm study

Paxton Hall


Join Rev. Weldon Bares for our Lenten Bible Study on “Forgiveness” by Adam Hamilton. This 3-week study begins on Sunday, March 1st in Paxton Hall and continues March 8th and 15th. The meal will begin at 5:30pm and the study at 6pm. All are welcome!



Pastor's Reflection Sunday

Rev. Weldon’s weekly articles in the American Press and Perceptions on the radio are a vital part of our outreach ministry. These two outreach ministries are funded with your generous donations instead of the operating budget. On Pastor’s Reflection Sunday, we offer you the opportunity to sponsor a week for $300, a month for $1,200 or donate any amount you feel led to contribute. Support A Pastor’s Reflection and help us change hearts for Jesus Christ!

Palm Sunday Services


Sunday, March 29th




Join us for Palm Sunday at either our 9am Contemporary service or 11am Traditional service! There will be a palm processional for the children and special music.

 



Holy Week Services



Maundy Thursday, April 2nd at 6pm in the Sanctuary.


Good Friday, April 3rd at 6pm in the Sanctuary.

    

Easter Sunrise Service, April 5th at 7am in the church parking lot, and Easter services of celebration at both 9am and 11am.



Collection Corner



We have many opportunities for donations at FUMCLC. Our collection table outside Paxton Hall is now accepting Community Coffee labels for Kaufman Elementary, jelly and peanut butter for Faith and Friends Food Pantry, socks, gloves, and blessing bags for our Homeless Ministry. Thank you for supporting our local community!



Candy-filled Eggs Needed




We are currently accepting candy-stuffed Easter eggs (please have individually wrapped candy and no chocolate). These can be brought to the Children’s Wing on the 2nd floor.



Methodist Children's Home of SWLA





In celebration of Valentine's Day, each child in the Methodist Children's Home received a special gift bag courtesy of the First Methodist Women.



"A Pastor's Reflection"



Rev. Weldon has published 140 of his favorite columns for “A Pastor’s Reflection.” The book is available in the church office and also on Amazon.com. It makes a great Christmas gift!

 



Kid's Corner - Palm Sunday Egg Hunt

Sunday, March 29th

Kids are invited to join Ms. Ann for our Palm Sunday Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 29th at 4pm! There will be hotdogs and a petting zoo and pony rides from Almosta Ranch. Join us for an afternoon of family fun!


Youth Day with The Bishop

Hosted at the Wesley Center on March 28th from 10am to 3pm, this gathering is designed for all youth across the Louisiana Conference, offering a space for spiritual growth, connection, and meaningful conversation with Bishop Delores J. Williamston.


Join us on the Third Floor at 10:00 every Sunday!
