Rest.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.   ~Proverbs 3:5

I don't know about you, but I have found rest to be illusive.  I find it illusive not because I'm unable to carve out some time to get rest, though that amount has become less and less over the last six months.  I'll get an hour here or a couple of hours there to rest, rejuvenate--by which, of course, I mean nap or read a book.   So the challenge I face is not that I cannot find the time . . . No, the rest I mean is the kind of rest where I am able to entrust to God all of my life, including my family.

Young Adult Ministry:   "Thursday Night Talks"

Thursday Night Talks, or TNT, has the goal of building authentic relationships with the young adults of our community by
creating a welcoming atmosphere through  discipleship and fellowship.  We come together  at least once a month for either pizza, cookouts,  or coffee.

Honestly, the format is simple: carve out  space in our busy lives and intentionally gather around the table.  If doing that was good enough for Jesus, we'll just follow his lead.  So, if you are  a young adult or know a young adult who would like to join us, please contact Daniel Mullens  (977-0400 or dmullens@fumcrm.org ) or Will Geanes (452-0104 or william.geanes@gmail.com ).

Thank You!

First United Methodist Church Family,

No words can express my gratitude for your generosity during my recovery.  It's not just the monetary gifts but the continued lifting in prayer for me and my children.  God is so good!  He spared my life for a reason, and my hope is to share my journey with others and encourage those who feel their life is without hope.  Your prayers and visits are welcomed, and my family thanks each of you for being a part of God's plan.
