A Word from Pastor Bob

One of my favorite verses in Scripture is John 14:27: “Peace I leave you; the peace I give to you.

I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be

afraid.” This verse comforts me and reminds me of God's love and purpose. Perhaps this is why I

so often use it at funerals or to comfort families who have lost loved ones.

This Sunday, we celebrate All Saints Sunday. It is a time to remember that God’s intent for

humankind is love and peace. This message runs through our Christian canon, from Genesis to

Revelation. Throughout Scripture, we see people who struggled with life, sin, and their faith but

came to understand God's love and peace. We often think of them as martyrs and saints. In many

cases, we view those we look up to and love similarly. Though our love often fails, we are

constantly reminded that God’s love never does.

As we approach not only this Sunday, when we remember those who shaped our faith, let us also

keep this message in our hearts, souls, and minds as we are called to live in peace and to love all

people, no matter what. I encourage you to share your love and peace with everyone in the

coming days and weeks. Let us be the image of Jesus to the world and demonstrate the faith of

those who have gone before us as we seek unity.

Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m., either in person or via live stream, as we honor our Saints by

lighting candles, sharing Holy Communion, and seeking the peace, love, and comfort God

intends for us all. I look forward to worshiping with you.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Bob
