A Message From Pastor Bob

Sometimes it takes us all a while to discover our skills, gifts, or talents. We may try something we enjoy, only to find it isn’t a natural talent. At times, we realize it isn’t something we will pursue because it doesn’t fit. All of this is normal and part of the growing process. It continues throughout our lives, with different hobbies, passions, and even accidental discoveries. This week at VBS, I have had the opportunity to work with many volunteers and watch children with many different talents and gifts. It is quite a blessing to witness as a pastor. 

This weekend, we will continue our sermon series, “Where Do We Go From Here?” We will discern what it means to use our talents, gifts, and skills to be committed to the Kingdom of God. We are called to use them in worship, mission, and ministry with others. When we work together and see those gifts in action, we get a dynamic, beautiful picture of God’s intent. 

This Sunday, we will have a wonderful opportunity to see many elements of our worship service. We will celebrate VBS with songs from some of our children; we will commission one to go on a mission trip; and we will see four others commit to the church as they transfer their membership.

Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM, either in person or via live stream, as we discern how to commit our gifts, talents, and resources to becoming the people God is calling us to be in our community. You will also have an opportunity to respond. There will be an insert in the bulletin that I ask you to complete. It will ask about your passions and skills so that I can get to know each of you and best position our church for ministry. I look forward to worshiping with each of

you.

An ongoing NEED. Help Women of Faith (UWF) in collecting items for the recently released from incarceration, a program sponsored by LOC Family

Services of Farmville. Especially needed: deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Items can include soap, toothpaste, mouthwash, a washcloth, deodorant, a hand towel, lotion, powder, a comb, pads or tampons, hand sanitizer and/or any other personal hygiene item you may wish to add. Collection bin is in the Mission Center.
