Fund for Women Newsletter, April 2025 Edition

Making Connections at Las Americas ASPIRA Academy

On Tuesday, April 1st, the Fund for Women hosted a truly inspiring event at the Las Americas ASPIRA Academy in Newark, DE, bringing together an incredible group of Latina women to introduce them to the powerful work of the Fund for Women (FFW).

A huge thank you to thank Pamela Sharpe McGhee for her leadership as chair of the committee and our planning committee – Lourdes Puig, Margie Lopez Waite, Wanda Lopez, Alicia Dominguez, Maydelis Gomez-Samon, Lyn Henshaw, Molly Giordano, Neyda Albarran, and Janiece Carmichael – for making this event a success!

The room was filled with accomplished Latina women, and we were proud to have representation from previous FFW grant recipients, including the Latin American Community Center, Read Aloud Delaware, and La Esperanza.

FFW Founder, Judge Aida Waserstein, shared a heartfelt message on the importance of Latina women being part of the Fund for Women, while Pamela Sharpe McGhee emphasized the power of coming together to empower women and girls of all backgrounds throughout Delaware.

This was just the beginning of something beautiful! Stay tuned for more updates on how FFW is continuing to make an impact and our next Community Connections event.
