Falling for Philanthropy Fun!
Thank you to those that attended our 10th Annual Sussex County Fashion Show. The event took place on Sunday, October 2nd at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club. We had 166 people in attendance, over $7,000 raised in sponsorships, and 14 new Founders sign up that day. It was a very successful event that raised almost $20,000. First Founders Breakfast
On October 12th, the Fund for Women hosted the First Founders Breakfast at Riverfront Events in Wilmington, DE. Marianne Kenville-Moore, Director of Advocacy & Policy at the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence was awarded the First Founders’ Award for her integrity, dedication, and advocacy toward ending domestic violence in Delaware. Young Founder Meet and Greet

2022 Year-End Annual Appeal
Dear Founders and Friends,
 
As we make the downward slide to the end of the year, we are reminded of how much opportunity exists to help our neighbors and our community. At times, the need feels endless. Perhaps, that is because it is. 
 
Despite granting $198,000 this year to 15 nonprofits in Delaware serving women and girls, less than 1/3 of the grant requests we received were able to be funded. We still have much work to do.
 
Please join me and our Board of Trustees in making a meaningful gift to the Fund for Women during our year-end annual appeal campaign. With your help, we are making a difference for women and girls in Delaware. Thank you for being a part of the solution.

Grant Review Committee Volunteers
We are starting the 2023 Fund for Women grant review process and we are looking for volunteers to help with the grant reviews. This is a great opportunity for you to have a direct impact on who receives this funding. We are looking for 30-35 Founders to serve as reviewers.  
 
Below is a rough timeline of the review schedule to help you assess your availability, the main lift will be reviewing all the grants for about a six-week period in February and March.
  • Jan 1 to Jan 31 - Accept grant applications online
  • Mid-January – We will have two reviewer workshops via Zoom (we ask that everyone attend one of the workshops)
  • Feb 13 to 24 - Round 1 of reviews
  • Mar 6 to Mar 17 - Round 2 of reviews
  • Week of March 27  - Zoom meeting with Grants Review Committee to share proposed awardees 
  • April - Final Grantees approved by the Board of Trustees
  • May - Grant Award Ceremony (Tentative)

2022 White Paper: Economic Justice as a Framework for Violence Prevention
The Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCADV) analyzed Delaware’s major firms' employee benefits and healthy workplace practices. This examination also includes a study of existing financial institution operations and procedures, as well as state statutes that promote the welfare of Delawareans. In addition, the DCADV environmental scan includes research on promising and best-practice workplace and corporate policies. CLICK FOR WHITEPAPER
