The Enamelist Society Featured Member - Delia Dante
Delia Dante is an award winning metal and glass enamel artist from San Francisco who currently resides in Boise, Idaho. She recently opened an new gallery in the heart of downtown Boise.

Delia discovered her artistic passion in the creation of metal and enamel sculptures, wall pieces and jewelry. She works with copper and steel embodied with beautiful enamel colors. Her highly specialized custom fabrication work has produced such masterpieces as the fourteen-foot sculpture “Me Deuce” situated at the bar in Barbacoa Grill in Boise. She is a board member for the International Enamelist Society and has received numerous awards, public and private commissions and donates her art to charitable organizations in the community.

The tremendous popularity and demand for Delia’s fine art enameling classes is the definitive result of her outstanding reputation as an art teacher for twelve years and working as a professional enamel artist since 2004. Students experience an exciting and socially engaging atmosphere while they are designing and creating exquisite and dramatically colorful art in the new fully equipped FireFusion Studio. Instruction in a variety of techniques from beginner to advanced and her Open Studio Access Lab ignite everyone’s creative passion and self expression.

CraftBoston - A review by Anne Havel
Imagine after all these years of participating in major craft shows and teaching that I have never been to CraftBoston! Well it WAS true. My daughter was visiting from California so we decided a little 2 ½ day trip to Boston to take in the show, museums, and other miscellaneous craft venues would be fun.

Much to my surprise I immediately encountered some of our fabulous members in their booths with all their work displayed to devilishly tempt unsuspecting buyers. I hope it worked!

It’s wonderful to see our members out in the world of fine art/craft shows presenting enamel to the world. For so long there was maybe one enamelist in a show and more than likely they would be presenting cloisonné. The variety of techniques now being displayed is uplifting and is helping spread a resurgence in the medium.

Without further ado, some pictures of Paulette Werger (long-time CraftBoston participant) and Jenne Rayburn (president of the Society of Arts & Crafts, creators of CraftBoston) with their work!

Trevor Taylor - How To Eliminate Glare When Photographing Artwork
From the article:

" The first impression of your artwork matters most and in today’s age that will most likely be a photo. You may need to submit pieces to galleries, post on social media, send out newsletters, or update your website. Whatever it is, paintings are notoriously difficult to photograph but paying for professional shots for each piece quickly adds up. Thankfully, a small investment and a little practice will give you great results, perfect for online use and even small art prints or reproductions.

There is a lot of advice on the internet on how to minimize glare when photographing artwork, but cross-polarization is a method to completely eliminate glare."
