"My creative journey began about 28 years ago when I took a basic jewelry class in metals at a local art center. Enamored with the torch, and the transformation of raw metals to a finished piece of jewelry, I continued my studies in traditional forms of Metalsmithing. About 10 years ago, I discovered Precious Metal Clay which transformed my work. This versatile material consisting of tiny particles of fine silver mixed with organic binders is soft and malleable, and is worked similarly to a clay. When fired in a kiln at high temperatures, the binders burn off, and the fine silver particles fuse together to form a solid and 99.9% pure piece of silver.
"More recently, I learned the art of enameling. Being drawn to vibrant color, this was a natural progression for me. While I continue to learn this magical medium, I now combine it with my metal work through the art of Cloisonné and Champlevé techniques.
As a jewelry artist, I continue to travel on this amazing journey of creativity, always eager to learn a new technique that will enhance my designs.
